Viet Nam has joined with several other South East Asian nations with the intent to promote democratic and economic principles and policies.
So was it worth it, it would seem so.

Ole buzzard The people still live in a Communist dictatorship. Our mission there was to prevent that. But, as always, politicians had to use the war in order to gain political advantage, and the mission was not accomplished. In that respect, no, it was not worth it. We left with our tails between our legs.
Considering the loss of life and the loss of prestige, no, it was not worth it. Perhaps, one day, politicians will learn that when you unleash the dogs of war, you should let them finish their jobs.

I am an eternal optimist and had a gut feeling there was more to this then met the eye. I keep reading and looking for the answer and it began with Joseph Curl this morning writing for the Washington Times; Roberts to the rescue for Romney, the headline read. The forth paragraph was this: But they all missed the point, and, more, by looking purely at the political, missed the forest for the trees. He then went on to explain about the mandate being a tax and not a fee. Not just a tax but 21 and counting, something Obama did not want attached to Obamacare. I am sorry but my memory fails me but later in the day someone coined the word "Obamatax". I continued to read articles posted on Lucianne.com and discovered how completely CJ Roberts shafted Obama's plan. I do believe the Lord our Creator and sustainer hasn't given up on us yet. God Bless America and CJ Roberts. Thank you GW Bush.

Wrightwinger I agree! There are several books by Lewis that contain his sermons, and his thoughts on the Almighty and redemption that are well worth the read. They are not light and frothy books, and show serious scholarship. He has made a great impression on me.

TexaTucky Thanks for the link. I have actually read Mere Christianity and some of C.S. Lewis' other books, but it's been many years. Might be a good idea to take another look.
