Cheese posted on Main Page The Lobby OK, I'm going to ask a question and hope that you'll help me with some answers. I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree and this may be naive, but what I would like to know is this: why isn't there a national news outlet or newspaper with a conservative point of view? Why isn't there a willing bazillionaire out there who could begin a newspaper or television news station to combat the relentless tide of dross and socialism?

Namma I have often wondered the same thing...why will no one who can start a conservative newspaper..I have actually thought of printing articles and sticking them on doorknobs of peoples homes...but the news would not reach many people to make a difference...

3XALADY I moved to St. Louis in 1962 and at the time there were two newspapers, The St. Louis Globe Democrat (leaned to conservative ) and St. Louis Post Dispatch (didn't lean to, WAS liberal ). The Post Dispatch, which was always a larger paper, survived. Writing of this reminds me of the news vendors on the corners in downtown St. Louis. Each one of them was a character in their own way. Kind of like the street people and beggars that you saw every day. All were characters. Maybe I should go to the Nostalgia page and reminisce about the ones I remember so well to see if anyone else knew about them.

3XALADY Got too involved in remembering my 'street people' that I forgot to say I'm not sure why the Globe Democrat folded unless it is because you might consider St. Louis more on the liberal side than conservative.

Cheese posted on Main Page The Lobby I'm just stopping in to say that today's Home Page pic of George Clooney and Zero is by far the greatest Home Page pic of all time. Bigfurhat is a peerless artist!

Betty Jean I think a picture of union goon Richard Trumka would also be appropriate as the tall one. Or the skinny SEIU brothers.
