Dixonnh posted on Main Page The Lobby No wonder our Ambassador and 3 other Americans were murdered in Benghazi. We're not safe at home either. We're broke. Our government is spending all their time and effort outing Tea Party members and many other Patriots, monitoring the AP, and lying to us. Our foreign relationships and policies are a mess. Our government is supplying the world with weapons but, wants to confiscate OUR weapons. Course the government has bought up all the ammo to further increase our impotence. Don't forget Kathy Sebelius is strong arming our businesses to donate in support of Obamacare. Gosh, those businesses really need to cooperate or they too will be on the IRS list. What else will come out in the next few days? Some of the press is finally on a roll....of course, once it involved them, we knew they'd get busy!

Labrador Heaven For those that followed Ulsterman's site throughout the last year before the election at least, you will recall the chilling words of the Military Insider. Succinct as he was in all his contributions, his final words to UM immediate post-election were "We're going to Watergate him. Don't contact me again." That's what I see unfolding, it was there for the taking as corrupt as this Administration is... Nixon looks, in hindsight and in comparison to O, like he merely stole a few gumballs. There are hints of even one more shoe to drop, via the CIA. Payback is a .....

Very interesting article from American Thinker. Hope General Petraeus is honest enough to tell the real and whole truth on the Benghazi slaughter of our ambassador and 3 other Americans. We do have to wonder as he's not been very honest so far. I'm probably stirring up the hornet's nest by making that statement.

Escaped commieny Heard Rush read this. I don't expect him to be 'open', it would reveal the gunrunning. The one I absolutely depise is Eric Cantor, he could have gone to the House with this instead of the FBI and we wouldn't have this zero to continue his destruction. They all are politcal HACKS, SPIT

Dixonnh I should have said that I heard Rush talking about this while I was in and out of car, running errands. I came home and looked it up and read. Gave me stomach upset because we trust our military leaders and this is scary. Seems like the General would need good security around him if he really plans on laying it out, truthfully. Guess we can only trust our Lord and Savior.

BirdsNest Good to know about Gram, I wasn't sure that we had been given a solid "Yes she is okay". Saw Ynaught's post about her ordeal, sure hope she is on the mend, she has really been through a lot.

Flaming Sword Actually, I'm not at all satisfied with the "lady". Her first email said Gram77 was fine the last time she saw her. I did email her about a week later asking if she had seen her again, or if she'd call or visit and check on her for me. She said she hadn't seen her and if I needed someone to check on her I could contact the local police dept. and forwarded their phone number. I was too angry to reply .

Dixonnh posted on Recipes Anyone making anything different this Thanksgiving? I'm going to make the recipe I tried below from pioneer woman site for the family. It passed the hubby challenge and Mom loved it. Also think I will cook cranberries in pomegranate juice and add mandarin oranges....just to try something different.

Surfhut If we made anything different for Thanksgiving, there would be mass revolt. Anything new must be made in addition to the traditional dishes.

Flaming Sword I don't really even like turkey. The upside of living alone is cooking what I love. I'm leaning toward pork loin with apples and onions, with my Calvados and boiled cider baste.

Bettijo Dix: Quit teasing. Give us the recipe you are trying. I am in the mood for something different. Duchess, being from the South, we do not stuff our turkeys, but serve "dressing" on the side. My dressing is my signature dish. Responding to Flaming Sword: I am not really crazy about turkey either; but it is the tradition. Give us the recipe for your Calvados and boiled cider base, please. Thanks.

Bettijo Dix: I found the recipe. It reminds me a lot of sweet potato caserole my mother used to make. She used canned sweet potatoes. Was so good she was always asked to bring it to covered dishes. The late Senator Richard Russell from Georgia's cook published some of his favorite recipes in the Atlanta Journal. Senator Russell's Sweet Potato Casserole 3 c. sweet potatoes, cooked & mashed 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sugar 2/3 c. milk 2 eggs 1 stick margarine, melted Mix all ingredients. Put in buttered pan. Spread topping over all. Bake 350° for 40-45 minutes. Topping 1 c. light brown sugar 1/3 c. margarine 1/3 c. flour 1 c. chopped pecans Mix all ingredients together.

Flaming Sword Bettijo, actually I don't have a recipe. I just take about 1/4 cup of boiled cider and a little Calvados (big splash for the pan and small glass for the cook ) , pour in in the pan drippings, stir, and baste frequently. Make sure you watch the Calvados. Too much heat and alchohol and you'll blow up your kitchen.
