HereIstand posted on Main Page The Lobby  Would someone please bring me up to speed on the word 'choom'? I'm seeing it everywhere and must have been asleep when it was coined. Thanks.

Basically; Obama was a pothead.
I would not have been able to serve in the AF if I had Obama's drug use history. And he's the CIC.

HereIstand posted on Main Page The Lobby  Does anyone know how I could find a copy of a made-for-TV movie called "Who Will Love My Children?" Starred Ann Margaret in the true story of a mother who is dying of cancer and tries to find homes for her seven kids with good families before her death. Her husband is an alcoholic and she knows he would not be able to care for them.

I've tried to find it for years. One of the saddest and most inspiring things I've ever seen. Another top-notch made-for-TV true movies is "Nobody's Child" starring Marlo Thomas. That story is how a woman conquers mental illness to become a doctor. Also a stunning movie that I cannot find.

Thanks for any help.

Akcamper  HereIstand, Yup, just me and Jake, we run a campground in Alaska that is supposed to open on May 1, and I hear that the snow is melting quite nicely. So make your travel plans now, at the price of gas, it won't be crowded!

HereIstand  Well, I swallowed hard and ordered the DVD at 24.95. Gasp! I'm normally not that extravagant. It's rated a unanimous 5 stars and I know I'll be glad to have it. Can't beat true stories.

Hi, Fireball! Thanks for the welcome back but I really am here practically every day. I lurk a lot and don't usually post unless something really gets me fired up. Most of what I have to say is "Ditto, Ditto. Me,too. Yep, you're right! Go gettum!" You get the idea :D

And AK, safe travels to you. I'm sorry to say something has come up so we'll be unable to complete our travel plans to visit your campground this year. Although, now that I think about it, if it doesn't stop raining around here, I might just say Oh, to hail with it, and come on up anyway!

HereIstand posted on Computers &Tech Issues  I'm almost embarrassed to post my question. Seems like I should know the ropes by now, but, *sigh* I don't, so here goes.
How do I send a video that has been posted here on the Connection (or for that matter, from YouTube) to a friend's email? Are there not copyright issues and all that?
I'm going outside for a bit now to enjoy what sun is left but I'll check back later. Thanking you in advance.

Loosbolt  A quick way to share youtube vids posted here and elsewhere is as follows:

1)Click anywhere on the video, it will start playing.

2)Quickly click one more time (anywhere on the video) and you will then be sent to the video as posted on youtube.

3)Place your cursor anywhere on the address bar (at the top of the page where you see ' http://www' and left click. This will highlight the entire URL address.

4) Right click in the address bar and select 'copy'.

5)In the body of your email right click again and select 'paste'. This will provide your recipient with a clickable link to the video.

Once you get the hang of this it takes all of about two seconds to git-r-dun : )

Copyright issues do not come into play as far as you are concerned when you are sending clickable links to youtube videos to email recipients.

HereIstand posted on Main Page The Lobby  Just wanted to make sure you know about the 'Hagman and Hagman Report' that I found yesterday on one of Lucianne's threads. It's a dad and son investigative team of reporters show. I listened (sometimes with difficulty) last night to the full two-hour audio of the Saturday night broadcast through CanadaFreePress. The main thing I want to say is that things are heating up with the birth certificate issue. Be encouraged.
One of the guests (Neil, from southern Cal.), addressing the topic of what one might think of Donald, said that if Almighty God can use a braying jackass to confront the false prophet, Balaam, (see Numbers 22:22-34), then God can most certainly use a Trump to confront a jackass. Whatever it takes to save a nation.

HereIstand posted on Main Page The Lobby  Hi All, I have a general question about proper protocol on the Connection. Since I can't read everything that interests me all at once, and sometimes a day or two will pass by before I can get a chance to read things, if I want to make a comment or question on a discussion that has already happened, say, two days ago, do I start at the beginning of a new thread like I did just now, or do I click into the session that has already passed by? Common sense says to start anew because we all can't (don't) continually go back to see if anyone adds things, but then unless people have read the original, then they are lost too. What think you?
Also, this is the Lobby. Is that a catchall for any and all subjects? I don't see a particular theme. Thanks. By the way, I like reading all the interactions and camaraderie even though I don't always post. Shoulda called myself MsLurksalot! :)

Rollingcow  I would probably go to the Wall where you found the subject you wanted to comment on, give a brief explaination then make your own comment. I think we all toss things here in the Lobby when we want everyone to see it, makes sense to me anyway.

MsCharlotteVale  I go with the common sense approach, sometimes you need to start a new thread because too much time has elapsed since the last reply to a thread to which you want to reply. And sometimes, something seems so important to you that you want to say something in the lobby in case people don't go to particular walls.

Surfhut  This confused me, too, at first. You have a couple of options about finding older posts. If you remember the wall it was on, click on the wall. A little box will appear. One of the options in that box is Channel News Feed. Click on that and you can see snippets of past comments. If you see the post you were looking for, click on it to take you to that older thread. The other option is if you remember the screen name of the original poster. You can go to the Look Up Members page, type in the poster's screen name, and their original posts will appear. You can click on the post you're looking for and jump back in. Hope this helps!

HereIstand  May we all be rotten then, MsCow! Went to an AFP meeting last night with DH and the speaker made a special point of cautioning us in thinking of all liberals as evil. Said that a person may be misguided, misinformed, ignorant, and wrong, and still not be evil. I concede that point grudgingly for some of the "little" people who might be screaming out their inanities at rallies or letters to editors, but it's getting harder everyday to make that same claim for the powers-that-be. Methinks a true darkness is descending and has infiltrated the highest reaches of power.

   Paget51  Welcome, Herelstand!

I was lurking on Lucianne.com for about 10 years. TheConnection is more relaxed, and I feel comfortable giving my opinion, right or wrong. :D

Glad you have joined in! It seems like you're doing just fine. :) Not sure what AFP is, but I'm also concerned about the liberal mindset. I think a lot of the liberals are just not paying attention. I know that's a fact with my grown children, as we keep trying to turn them away from the dark side, but so far they can't even tell that it is dark. We won't give up. One of these days they'll wake up. I hope it won't be too late.

Belwhatter  HereIstand,It's the ones who won't see, the deniers, that bother me greatly, plus those that have turned their backs on responsibilities, on good and on self improvement, embracing instead the foolish pleasures of life. Theirs is a spiritual darkness. Pray for a new direction for the world that leads us all to grace and freedom.

Waving flag  HereIstand, I agree with the speaker at your meeting. Democrats run a gamut from the merely ignorant to treasonous scum. Perhaps the merely ignorant can be forgiven, but that doesn't mean they should be allowed to vote.

HereIstand posted on Main Page The Lobby  Hi All. I posted a request on the Viewing and Listening thread, but thought this was where most of you hang out, so here goes... Am trying to remember a song about a guy telling a woman that he doesn't know her but that she reminds him of someone he once knew. The guy is in an institution (hospital) and he says that they told him he went running down the road calling out her name. I know it sounds corny, but does this ring anyone's bell. (I think my clean, copper clapper I keep in the closet got copped by Claude from Cleveland...nothin's ringing where I stand.)

HereIstand posted on Suggested Viewing/Listening  Can someone help me out here? I just can't remember the name or singer of an old country song that's been bugging me for days. The singer is male and I imagine it was recorded longer than 20 years ago. He is telling a woman that he doen't know her but she reminds him of someone he once knew. It becomes obvious that he is in an institution of some kind. He says that they told him he ran running down the road calling out her name. Ring a bell with anyone?
