StormCnter  Terrific film. Gregory Peck is always worth watching, but Dean Jagger is a fave of mine. "Twelve O'Clock High". Good one, Hope.

HopeandGlory  That's correct Storm, Hubby loved it for the Umpteenth time Smile!. . . Sorry I didn't answer sooner, but my Internet has been down all day. Also, the electricity was off for an hour this morning, Is this going to be the new "Norm"? . . . Sigh!
June 21 at 21:51 EST .

Safetydude  Roger on a terrific movie.
I can almost identify with the scene when General Savage started to suffer his breakdown and couldn't swing himself into the B-17 through the crew hatch.
No, not the breakdown, but having a tough time getting in the 'plane through the nose hatch.
Our wing hosted the B-17 "Memphis Belle", of what was the "Confederate(now commemorative )Air Force" when I stationed at Robins AFB with the 116th BW. Some of us did some maintenance on it and went up to the flightdeck, via the front hatch. I don't know how the crews wearing flack jackets and all that cold weather gear on managed it. It took us at least three tries to get it.
It's hard to believe that the old F-4 Phantom could carry twice the bomb load of the B-17.

It's nice to see some activity on the ol' Movie wall.

MeiDei  Gee Safety you sure know how to make a person feel like chopped liver! [laughing] I thought you weren't happy with it/us.

By the way MeiD.. I love pate and cucumber sandwiches.
Not a thing wrong with chopped liver.
Yesterday at 23:04 EST .

MeiDei  I loved my French aunt's pork liver pate, it was ground not chopped - couldn't help but make a pig of myself (laughing ).
I left you a war quiz tell us if it's to your liking.

BirdsNest  Is it laziness or time constraints that keep people from visiting just a few walls? It is very boring to go to a wall and see nothing new for months. I have been extremely busy and preoccupied with my own troubles and have not felt like posting much.

StormCnter  It's nice to know that someone is visiting the Walls each day. However, if there are no comments for weeks or months, the Walls appear unvisited.

FlatCityGirl  Specifically, what is the Main Page - The Lobby for?
June 20 at 14:00 EST .

   Escaped commieny  It's a Lobby, where you get directions to the wall {floor}
your (destination ) post is appropriate. In the beginning we didn't have all these specific walls. The Coffee Klatch was born for gossip around the water cooler. Then the interest of the posters added more walls.

FlatCityGirl  So in other words, we shouldn't be posting anything here on this page at all? We are supposed to log on and then go to different walls from here.

So on which wall would I got to post a link to a story about a giant alligator that was killed in Florida?

But if all this page is good for is to give directions to another wall, why is posting even allow4ed?

StormCnter  Just my opinion, but I think we should stop criticizing each other for breaking unwritten rules. If something is posted here that others feel should have been posted elsewhere, what harm has been done?

FlatCityGirl  I just took a tour around the site and looked at all of the "walls." Then I went back about ten pages on this Main Lobby page to see what had been posted.

I think that for the most part, we get it right; we post in the right places.

I always thought this Main Page was for current events --happening right now. I got taken to task here once for posting political stuff when we have a Politics Wall. But I didn't pay any attention to it. With the fall elections coming fast, and with Trump dominating everything, Politics is very Right Now.

HopeandGlory posted on Main Page The Lobby  I thought y'all might enjoy this:

by John Cleese - British writer, actor and tall person

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Syria and have therefore raised their security level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.” The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from “Tiresome” to “A Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada.

The Scots have raised their threat level from “Pissed Off” to “Let’s get the Bastards.” They don’t have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.

The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from “Run” to “Hide.” The only two higher levels in France are “Collaborate” and “Surrender.” The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France ‘s white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country’s military capability.

Italy has increased the alert level from “Shout Loudly and Excitedly” to “Elaborate Military Posturing.” Two more levels remain: “Ineffective Combat Operations” and “Change Sides.”

The Germans have increased their alert state from “Disdainful Arrogance” to “Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs.” They also have two higher levels: “Invade a Neighbour” and “Lose.”

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels .

The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.

Australia, meanwhile, has raised its security level from “No worries” to “She’ll be alright, Mate.” Two more escalation levels remain: “Crikey! I think we’ll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!” and “The barbie is cancelled.” So far no situation has ever warranted use of the last final escalation level.

A final thought - “ Greece is collapsing, the Iranians are getting aggressive, and Rome is in disarray. Welcome back to 430 BC”.
