Kono posted on Main Page The Lobby  I don't know if rosefenn ever hangs out here (didn't it used to let us go to other users' walls? ). But I wanted to offer a word of thanks for posting on the mothersite today that piece about the sandhill cranes at their migration stopover on the Platte River.

The reason given for the post being closed was that it's not a news site.

Bull puckey.

The Omaha World Herald is Omaha's main newspaper. While not the biggest newspaper in the country, it is most definitely a news site. And I'm most definitely happy to see the reminder of how neat the Sand Hills of Nebraska can be during the crane migrations each year.

Kono posted on Main Page The Lobby  Here's a pic that ran in sfgate today showing President Momjeans giving his final Christmas tribute to the troops. Noting the practically-flaming look he sports, and the quasi-disgusted look on Mooch, I thought it might be good "Caption This" fodder...

Kono  With the end of my Presidency, I've agreed with Michelle that we will change places. We have a bet between us about whose two terms will wind up being better. I fooled her, though; because I actually WANT to be Ethel Merman for a week, so I'm hoping her 8 years as President will be better than mine were.

Kono posted on Main Page The Lobby  One of the things I had HOPEd would CHANGE during Obama's time in office was the way the First Couple seemed to have no use for carrying themselves in public with the dignity befitting the leaders of this country (much less the leaders of the world, as some spoke of Barry and Mooch ). I see this stuff and it projects pandering rather than projecting pride and strength.

Kono posted on Main Page The Lobby  Blessings to y'all on this day before official election day.

Today's the second time in a week I can recall seeing the political cartoonist whose work is featured on the mother site's must-reads (today's panel attached to this post ). Can anybody tell me what those cheek buttons are supposed to be on the Hillary portrayal? So many of the political cartoons feature praiseworthy caricatures of her; but this one looks vaguely like a ventriloquist's dummy to me, and I wondered whether I was the only one who got that impression...

Tulsa  Dood! those are ear bobs!

And that's Robert Ariail. He's 'famous' in South Carolina (my home state ). He's award winning. But, he is also often infuriatingly liberal ...and then again he is sometime brilliant.

It's the strangest thing.

I read him daily at GoComics only bc I read him daily at home when we took The State paper. It was like reading Lewis Grizzard. A daily must.

Kono posted on Main Page The Lobby  Wasn't this site supposed to be a place where the "salon, not saloon" restrictions of the mother site were relaxed a bit and we could 'speak' our minds more freely?

Why is an ordinary word that's not even censored on network TV ('a s s' ) censored here, then? "Bad word" myass.

Goobers.

Tulsa  We are not supposed to talk with or to each other at Lucianne.com

We can and do here. That is where the rules are relaxed, not where language is concerned, as far as I know.

Anyone else have additional information?

Kono  I'm sure I've used a s s dozens of times on the mother site without any filter complaining. Whatever. I'll just have to imagine kids are present every time I want to say something here, golly gee fiddlesticks.

Kono  Here is the 'toon of which I inquired in August, and found the answer in September. It seems the political cartoonist is Henry Payne.

Kono posted on Main Page The Lobby  Does anybody recall the Must-Reads cartoon this last week featuring a media guy echoing loudly the familiar "America keeps blacks from making it" refrain, while whispering to the 8 or so U.S. gold medalists (smiling in triumph ), "you guys are making this awkward", or something like that?

I loved that cartoon and meant to save it but didn't get it in time, and now I can't figure out which cartoonist's archives to search for it. Did anybody catch that one?

I'm not familiar with the artist. The name looks like 'lisa', but there's there's no 'lisa' in Wikipedia's world list of political cartoonists. Could someone help me out, please?
