MaxWedge posted on Main Page The Lobby  This will make your heads explode. Yesterday, a couple I know was contacted by an acquaintance of theirs who works for CPS. They were asked if they would be interested in taking in any of these illegal alien children. She went on to say that the government, aka you and I, is willing to pay them $6400.00 a month per child. When is this insanity going to stop?

Linder  Since my head exploded after reading this, I've read the money is being offered by private charity.

I read somewhere else but cannot find it now that this was more than foster parents get for taking in US children and these foreigners may be as old as 22 years.

MaxWedge posted on Main Page The Lobby  How about a Home Improvement wall for those of us that like to do it yourself, or in some cases, destroy it yourself? Who's in it with me?

Ole buzzard  I like the idea. We can swap ideas, help each other with problems, and the like. I think it would be a very useful wall.

Ole buzzard  In terms of styling and appearance, I would rank 4-8-4's as follows:

#1 - SP streamlined GS-4
#2 - N&W Class J
#3 - UP FEF-3's with smoke lifters

Ole buzzard  One has to admire the technological advances that have been made in railroad motive power, especially in the last two decades. However, I think a GE U36C or a C36-7 is more pleasing to the eye than a CW44AC or an ES44AC. Even an EMD SD70MAC is more esthetically pleasing than an SD70ACe.

I know that I spoke a lot of gibberish to some here, but I'll post pictures to illustrate the differences.

MaxWedge  No, Ole buzz, I didn't get to watch the 4014 being moved, except on YouTube. :( I was hoping it was going to come through northern Nevada, but it went through Vegas and Salt Lake, which makes a lot more sense.
