Mlc posted on Main Page The Lobby  I am wondering about the beautiful fall photo on the site. Tell me where I can go to see leaf color like that now. Here in Roswell Georgia, the leaves are mostly gone. How about farther south, Yotty?

Yottyhere  Buzzard took the pontoon to the marina in the middle of last week and there seemed to still be a lot of leaves left on the tree's from his pictures.
To me the colors were not very good this year. Don't know if it was the drought conditions or just a "off" season. Our leaves were much duller. Nothing like the colors on the main site picture at all.

Gerty  Just returned from a trip to NC (not as far south as Miss Yotty ) and must agree. While there were many trees in Fall colors, they were dull and nowhere near the vibrant colors pictured on the main site. Here in the Northeast we had no water problems and the colors were also unremarkable.

Mlc  Oddly, our colors were beautiful around here, but after the high winds last week things are pretty bare.
Thanks Rake, I'll check out the travel wall.

Ole buzzard  The colors were not very vibrant this year. They came late, and faded fast.

Starlady  Amazingly, despite the winds we have had recently , we still have beautiful leaf color in SW Virginia. I was making the same comment as posted on the Home Page to my grandchildren as I drove though my neighborhood last week. God has certainly painted a beautiful scene for us as we return home every day, (purples, reds, yellows, and oranges all mixed in several areas ). How long it will last I do not know, but I will enjoy it as much as possible while it does.

Mlc posted on Jokes  OLE BLUE

A young cowboy from Montana goes off to college.
Half way through the semester, having foolishly
squandered all his money .... he calls home.

"Dad," he says, "You won't believe what modern education
is developing! They actually have a program here in Missoula
that will teach our dog, Ole' Blue how to talk!"

"That's amazing," his Dad says. "How do I get Ole' Blue
in that program?"

"Just send him down here with $1,000" the young cowboy says:

"and I'll get him in the course."

So, his father sends the dog and $1,000.

About two-thirds of the way through the semester,
the money again runs out. The boy calls home.

"So how's Ole' Blue doing son?" his father asks.

"Awesome, Dad, he's talking up a storm," he says, "but you
just won't believe this -- they've had such good results
they have started to teach the animals how to read!"

"Read!?" says his father, "No kidding! How do we get Blue
in that program?"

"Just send $2,500, I'll get him in the class."
The money promptly arrives. But our hero has a problem.

At the end of the year, his father will find out the dog
can neither talk, nor read.

So he shoots the dog.

When he arrives home at the end of the year, his father
is all excited.

"Where's Ole' Blue? I just can't wait to see him read
something and talk!"

"Dad," the boy says, "I have some grim news. Yesterday
morning, just before we left to drive home, Ole' Blue was
in the living room, kicked back in the recliner, reading
the Wall Street Journal, like he usually does".

"Then Ole' Blue turned to me and asked, so, is your daddy
still messing around with that little redhead who lives
down the street?"

The father went white and exclaimed, "I hope you shot

that lying rascal before he talks to your Mother!"

"I sure did, Dad!"

"That's my boy!"

The kid went on to law school, and now serves in
Washington D.C. as a Congressman.
