Mrs. calf

Mrs. Calf posted on Faith  Hello Ldotters! My family is in need of some serious prayers. My brothers exwife was shot by her boyfriend yesterday. She is alive but in critical condtion. My brother is in hometown right now getting his son but she also had to girls 17months old and 5 months old with the man who shot her. My brother is seeing what he can do about the girls as well. All the children were home at the time of the incident and I'm sure heard if not saw the whole thing as well. Prayers are desperately needed today. Thank you!

Does he really believe what he says or does he just say things because he knows no one will "call" him on it?? I just want to slap him silly.

Mrs. Calf posted on Coffee Klatch  Well its been an exciting day here at the barn. Aside from Mrs.Cow getting new flooring in her living room, Victoria threw up just before preschool and Jack was on our local news station. His class said Hello to the city at the very end. He did very well and Im super proud of my baby boy, even if he was all boy and chewed his shirt collar and plugged his ears. He did so wonderful.

Linder  Always good to hear from the barn. We woke up to snow here in southern Iowa and the tv says it's headed your way. Enjoy! I shoveled a path to the bird-feeder early and have been watching them feast. Keep safe this winter day.

Balogreene  A once dear friend of mine was pushed into Martial Arts by his parents as a nerdy, friendless child. When I knew him he was an extremely self-confident (tho still nerdy ) man. He also was a Master in his discipline, and people travelled far to study with him. I have always admired him. He was always in control, never "mad", but, he could be angry. He was never afraid, he could handle anything but gun carriers. Sorry to say, for him it became a religion. But, he was like those Buddhist monks, calm, self-assured, in control, and always at peace.

Rollingcow  The Calf is a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and switched to Kook (there is a u in the middle, but the dirty word filter refuses to take it as a clean word ) Sool Won when his Tae Kwon Do master passed away a few years ago. He is nearly a black belt in this art as well. Mrs. Calf took it up a year or so ago and Victoria wanted to try so here she is. It is wonderful for all children and adults as well. It teaches self-control and confidence as well as manners. We are all very proud of our Tori for even trying.

Mrs. Calf posted on Coffee Klatch  So I have to share this very cute story with all the aunties and uncles on the connetion. I put a banner I made that has a quilted snowman with the word "theres no man like a snowman" on it. This is the first time in Charlottes lifetime that i have put him up. As soon as the snowman was hanging she went over and covered him in kisses and kept pointing to him and cooing and then would lean and kiss him. Apperently it has been Charlotte approved. LOL

Mrs. Calf posted on Coffee Klatch  Hello everyone! Welcome Back. I thought I would update on life in the barn. Victoria has taken to her insulin shots very well now. She is even starting to do some stuff herself (with adult supervision of course ). Charlotte is talking up a storm although half of it we have no clue what its supposed to mean. And Jack is loving school but we are not loving the germs he keeps picking up and bringing home. Today he has the flu bug. So its been lots of rest and ds game time and snuggles with mom. Just thought I'd let all thier aunties and uncles on the connection know what was going on.

Nugoddess  That Victoria is getting to be such a young lady! Good for her and good for y'all letting her start taking ownership of her medication.

And good for Jack, getting all the snuggles he can. I remember when I was down with the flu and my mom came in the room; I felt immediately better, just knowing she was there.

Yottyhere  Good to see you posting Mrs Calf!
Glad Victoria is accepting the duties about her insulin procedures etc so well. SOme children fight their parents every step of the way.
:D Daughter4 was a "babbler" she would jibber jab on and on and on and as long as you sat there and nodded your head she was ecstatic. My Dad would sit with her on his lap rockin' and nodding for hours.

It would help a lot if parents didn't send the young ones to school if they are running temps, spreading all those germs... Have another daughter who teaches the young ones and she says 'tis the season :(

Thanx for the updates ...

FL Homeschool Mom  Thanks for the update, Mrs. Calf. I just took Jacob to the doctor on Saturday (at least the 6th time this fall ) and the doctor informed me that during the first and second year of school, kids will be sick an average of 6-8 times. I think we're up to #5 now and as an added bonus, I catch most of what he brings home! Woo hoo!

Glad to hear Victoria is doing so well with her insulin. That can be tough to get regulated when they're young. Will she be able to have a pump installed? My friends daughter (5 ) was diagnosed a few years ago and she's still having a terrible time getting her regulated and they can't install the pump because of it.

Enjoy Charlotte's language while you can -- before you know it all you'll hear is "Mom, can I.....", "Mom, she's touching me", "He's looking at me", etc. Then you'll wish for the good old days when everything they said was cute.

Her A1C (which is a look at the last three months of blood sugars ) is down to 6.5. For perspective in Febuary when she got diagnosed it at 11.6. Sbe still has diabetes obvisouly but other then that It is well under control and she is a healthy four year old. So yeah!!!!!!
