Isn’t that we are creating in this country when people are “given” everything and there is no need to “work” for anything? We are establishing a sense of “ worthlessness”. There is no room for pride a person could instill in themselves for their accomplish- ments. I know my biggest strength is having come from a father that left our family, living with a grandmother (God bless her ), on Medicaid, and still being able to go to college, working while in school, graduating then being able to put Mr. Hope through graduate and post graduate studies. Or at least that was my experience. After saying that, I would say I agree with MSHOPE more than I disagree. I am simply relating what my 78 years has me remembering. Rather than "mire" us down, his posts should insprire us to "move on." We have a big agenda. I hope his daughter, Melissa, agrees. Someone mentioned on another page that if I updated my profile I would have access to "look up members" again. Balogreene posted on MsHope  I've never known if we rescue them, or they rescue us. Daddy said we are commanded by God to care for all animals. Dogs and cats are our special gift. If we choose not to bring them into our hearts, we are not obeying God, and are missing all the love and joy He plans to give us. We have a greyhound now, who does not appear sick, but we know we are losing her. We leave the stairwell lights on, so she can see her way up and down. I sleep with my light on so she can see to climb into bed with me. Her health is failing at 13, but nothing specific. I've been there, so many times. MsHope posted on Household Hints  For hard food residue in the microwave oven try this. Wet a dishcloth with water, wring out, place in microwave and heat for 30 to 40 seconds. My absence is primarily due to the fact that in addition to my cousin's presence and caretaking (which involves the juicing of veggies and the encouragement to get up and move ) I'm spending most afternoons scanning the insides of my eyelids. (I can't say nap or Rose will head for the bedroom. ) Sad I missed the mini-reunion at the book fair. Surfie and I still haven't gotten together. I am carless these days as Hubs' car died and he is using mine. My cousin gets me to appointments and shopping, but seems reluctant to let me drive her car. I haven't pushed.
