Phooey  Scroll down to Bettijo's 'Watch Megan Kelly set Sandra Fluke straight.' article. All comments there have Wrightwinger's avatar beneath each comment.... at least using my computer. It also occurs on most other walls. Also, everyone's avatar is now an eagle.

Linder  Did not know May 8th was Joshua's birth date. Thanks Phooey, and loved your use of the term "lad." My Gramps who is 77 and still a large, gruff and imposing man uses that term of endearment often when talking with young men. I'm sure he doesn't realize he uses it and doesn't have a clue that is the reason I insisted on naming our Bishon Laddie.

Phooey  Ec, hopefully no DMV will allow anyone a renewal using this method claiming they'll drive using their elbows and knees... then again, if they register to vote Democrat ? .... who knows ?

Balogreene  EC, I didn't even look into laser surgery after I found I would still need reading glasses. For years (20 ) I have used contacts AND reading glasses. It stops me from needing bifocals. I rarely use my glasses. My sister was told her amount of near-sightedness disallowed the surgery.

It's kind of funny, cause both of us are getting more far-sighted the older we get. So, we need less and less help than before.

Escaped commieny  Phooey, funny you should mention that, I was over the road sales for over 25 yrs and could drive with my knees all the time, back before cell phones, used yellow pads for notes and could eat while driving,BUT never a demoncrat. Balo, in my line of work,I had to give up contacts, they absorbed the toxic environment of the oil and construction business. DH went from near sighted to far sighted but then had cataracts removed, now has new lenses from Filatowski but still needs reading glasses. I would not recommend Lasik, my one eye reverted and now have glasses in every room of the house and my purse for close work and distance driving.

Safetydude  When I was in High School I wore glasses to drive and to see in the distance.

I was drafted after college and the Army issued me 'corrective lenses',ie, glasses so I could drive safely.

Then at some point I realized that I could see as well without glasses and that was, oh, so many years ago.
Then I started to need 'readers' which I used for years and years.

Now I only need 'readers' in low light environments like restaurants.

And now I'm typing and reading on my computer without any vision help, at all.

Go figure.

ps. I'm not sure I could ever let anyone slice or dice on my eyes.

NotaBene  I had LASIK and it lasted well for 9 years so I had it again. I started wearing glasses at 15 and hated them. Although I need glasses for reading I do not need glasses when I go out to parties, I love it. I am not sure if I will have it again. I am not getting younger (I should really say I am getting older ) and they will not do it if there is any hint of cataracts. I have enjoyed 15 years without wearing glasses all the time, it has been wonderful!! I do recommend it.
