Pickle1 posted on Dogs, Cats & Critters I wonder if anyone might have seen two puppies that look similar to this dog. We have been searching for them since 2011. They were stolen through breach of contract by recently convicted animal abuser, Jennifer Herberts, here in TX. The only thing we have been able to find out is the female puppy name Iris may have been sold to someone in OK or TX. Any info would be appreciated.

MsHope My husband and I are right there with you. We are losing our 12 year old "rescued" dog to pancreatitis and liver failure. My goal is to provide even a fraction of the enormous amount of comfort, love and protection he has so generously given us all these years. I am trying to focus on something Ynaught relayed in describing the great joy her recently departed dog had provided so many people over the years. While a vast amount of our days consists of attending to his comfort, it is time well spent. We extend our empathy, Pickle.

MsHope Pickle, I did not intend to "barge in" on your post, adding my grief as well. My intent was to offer not advice, but perhaps some positive thoughts about a difficult situation. I see you have already done so through your contact with a man that may offer help not only to Keeley but humans as well. My prayers for you also; not only for Keeley's health, but for a smooth path rather than a rocky road to whatever is ahead.

Balogreene I learned dogs live 12 years, cats, up to 25. Then I learned the variables. 6 1/2 is so young. Our Desi is 13, greyhounds are supposed to live to 12. Two have lived beyond, two didn't make it. May God hold Keeley in His arms thru all of this. We all know He will give Keeley peace, and all the greater benefit, and I bet we have a LOT of friends between us, at the Bridge, cheering Keeley on.

Surfhut That is a beautiful dog. I used to have an albino German Shepherd. Ike looks a lot like my Aspros, except for the ears!

Pickle1 Thank you. He is one of the best tempered pups I have ever seen. I have never seen an albino shepherd. Is there special care for them? He is a few months old in that picture.

And it seems there arent any special problems you have to address other than the normal problems people who have German Shepherds face. Sometimes a food allergy,problems with the hips etc.

Pickle1 Yottyhere: They don't have any more problems than any of the rest. He is registered with the AKC; but as usual can't show because the rules which dates back. I personally think it was due to Hitler who wanted all the white shepherds destroyed. Thought them to be inferior. Any vet will tell you they are usually stronger than the colors.
However, Ike has been an international and national champ since 3 months of age and I am going to title him out. He is beautifully conformed and his parents are winners in just about everything they compete in. He is a joy to be around. Just loves to be loved.

Yottyhere Daughter1 lost her big GS the day after Thanksgiving. And he didnt develope any health issues until his last 2 years. Extremely healthy big boy.
I found that link to be very interesting because I didnt know all that about the White Shepherds.
That was how daughters Gus was he loved being loved on. AND you could see him grin when he teased the puggies too :D Mabel would get so mad at him she would stomp around stiff legged just scolding him because he had one of her toys...

Pickle1 I am so sorry to hear about her GS. I lost a kitty in May at 19 from nose cancer. She all of the sudden developed it. My vet says the older animals get the more they will get a disease. Had a blue queen heeler lab mix 17 when he passed. Not a thing wrong with him ever and then he just got old. I miss all my babies so much.
The GSD are so funny and really loyal to their owners.

Yottyhere With the kids long grown up and the grandsons nearly adults. Our second grandson turns 21 tomorrow.
So, as the kids get on with their lives [as they should] our pets bring us a ton of joy.
We have mostly always had big dogs. Collies,Labs, Goldens so this is a new adventure for us with 3 puggies.
And I adore their sense of humor. They really are the clowns of doggie-dom.

Paget51 Our "grandpuppy", Kaiser, the mini Schnauzer will be living with us as long as our son lives in an apartment. When he moves to his own home someday, he'll take "Kaiser" with him. That will break my heart. :( So, when that time comes, I will see about getting a Puggie. They sound so darn sweet. :)

Pickle1 Thanks guys. They are my heart and soul. All my babies are. The pugs are wonderful dogs. Yes, they are the little clowns of the doggie world and what a treat they are. I loved my Dad's two Schnauzers. They were lots of fun a great watch dogs.

Yottyhere Have a friend who has a mini Schnauzer and that dog is incredible! He trained him to do a forward full flip and the doggie will be running across the yard and just do a flip on his own. I had to sit down on the ground it made me laugh so hard the first time I saw it! That is the happiest dog I have ever seen.
