Nugoddess  Did you chose the file from your computer? I do not know how to do it any other way.

What I do is save a pic to my computer file and then post it from the ''Attach image to this comment'' link at the bottom of the post.

Rightclick posted on The Range 2nd Amendment  OK, I'm a newbie CCW holder. I have an excellent Springfield XDM 9mm (no cracks about the efficacy of anything less than a .45 please ) and I am looking for a smaller, lighter 9mm to carry. What are your thoughts?

Oh, and thanks in advance!

Liberal like Jefferson  Wife likes her Kimber Ultra Aegis II - light, single stack 9mm. The Glock 26 is a fine ccw choice, but is a bit bulkier. The modern 9mm cartridge is quite effective for personal defense. Don't let any of the macho guys convince you otherwise Check out the ballistics.

Rightclick  Thanks, all (even you Struan! ) The single stacks certainly look thin but I have big hands. So the trade off is easy to conceal vs hand fit. Since I fully utilize my available waistband inches, I'm not sure I can share any with an IWB holster.I will try out a couple of styles to see how they fit.

Rightclick  Struan, I meant no offense! Just a playful jab. I know you have a 'happy demeanor'. I am hoping that my wife will get over her fear of the shear force of the weapon to be comfortable using it. I am afraid that a larger caliber would put her off handguns completely.

Doublesharp  How bout the baby Glock? The G26 w/ the 2 round ext mag is a worthy carry piece. I don't remember the mag cap but seems like it's about 14-15 and it will use any Glock mag, will just hang out the bottom farther. For a tight budget look at the Kel Tec pf9 or pf11. one is a single stack and one is double but I forget which. Seems like CDNN has them for under $300. I've never shot one but I've got one of the first edition p38s. It's smooth now but the plastic mag catch was a problem KT has wonderful customer service.

I've got the Glock 27 in 40S&W as a sometimes carry piece. I still prefer my S&W 337ti airweight revolver. 5 shots of +P .38 in a 12 oz package is hard to beat.

Magdalene  This is one of my favorite places in the world, the steps of the Lincoln Memorial looking across the Reflecting Pool to the Washington Memorial. I've only been there in person, but I took a ton of pics and have used one in a piece of art.

Betty Jean  Welcome, RC. Good morning ALL! I'll pass on the coffee since I had mine already - a long time ago!

What a beautiful picture! Here's my story about the Wash. Monument. DH and I were in DC last year for the 9/28 march, my left knee hurt so bad I could hardly walk. DH is known as (by me) Tommy Tourist. We had walked up the hill behind the Capitol to the Supreme Court Building, saw the Library, back down the hill and over to the Washington Monument. My knee was screaming in pain. We get to the Monument and DH says 'do you think you can make it to the Lincoln Monument?' I had to refuse him and offer to wait for him there while he went but he decided not to. Then we had to walk back to the Capitol and over to the train station to meet our bus. When I got back home, I had arthroscopy surgery on my left knee for a torn meniscus (sp?), torn in two places and 'stuff' floating in the knee. I'm looking forward to a return trip so I can enjoy the landmarks.

Rollingcow  Lovely photo. I've never been to DC although Mr. Cow and the Calf stopped there on their way back from London. It was a 'male bonding' trip while the Calf was in college. I went to London with a friend a few years before that since it was a dog show trip-a novelty for us to just go and watch the dogs instead of showing ourselves. We decided not to stop in DC since we'd worn ourselves out prowling London, maybe I'll get a chance one of these days.

Rightclick  I had to go on a business trip. Hated the thought of going to a democrat infested city, but I had to go. I scheduled 3 hours to walk the mall and wish I had scheduled a full day! All I can say is, if you get the chance to go, GO!

Paget51  Welcome, RC, and good morning all!

Hubby and I want to travel back east someday to see the sites, and I want to see so much it will have to wait until we retire and have all the time we need! That is, if we can afford to go anywhere on our retirement income! Ha! In the meantime, I thoroughly enjoy all the photos you and BeatleJeff post. :)
