ZurichMike posted on Main Page The Lobby Hello, Ldotters! I haven't been posting a lot, though I do read what is posted.
Here's an app for your iPhone to keep you spirits up in the next few months: Go to the iTunes store and look for "T-Zero" countdown app. It's free, and you can add multiple dates such as birthdays etc. I only have two critical dates: Election Day and Inauguration Day, respectively 119 an 194 days away.

ZurichMike And neither day can arrive fast enough.

RedWhiteBlue OK, so I downloaded it but now I don't know how to set it up to count down till election and Inauguration day. Anyone tried and succeeded with this one. I'd love to use it. Thanx all,

ZurichMike posted on Main Page The Lobby All of this political stuff (elections, Trayvon, ObamaCare, mandates, Supreme Court ) has made me frazzled. I went to the this event to unwind today (be sure to check out the "couture" ):
He : Yes. At last. It was so hard to wait. She : Do you want me to leave? He : No! Don’t even think about it. She : Do you love me? He : Of course! Over and over! She : Have you ever cheated on me? He : No! Why are you even asking? She : Will you kiss me? He : Every chance I get. She : Will you hit me? He : Are you crazy! I’m not that kind of person! She : Can I trust you? He : Yes. She : Darling!

Tianne ZurichMike - Don't get here very often but have been mesmerized by the beauty of your posted photographs in times past. I've traveled vicariously through your musings and have enjoyed every minute of it. Your worldly perspective is also always interesting and worth pondering. Hope to be able to visit this site more often in the new year and am looking forward to your posts. Happy New Year!

Linder Great fun to read your menu..(had to google "quatre epices" )..to see how the other half lives. Did you learn any of this from your mother? We live very simply but have enjoyed a few opportunities to dine elegantly and it was always great fun. Thanks for sharing.

ZurichMike We both like to cook, and this is unlike things our mothers cooked for Christmas. We try to think of new things to have each year. The "quatre epices" is something I learned from one of my business trips to Morocco, where the "4 spices" powder is a superb rub for any meat. I like to bake, so I do all the Christmas cookies, chocolate ice cream, nut rolls, as well as the sorbet and the stuffed hot peppers. My partner does the rest -- while I set the table and get the wine organized.

ZurichMike posted on Main Page The Lobby Not sure if I mentioned this before, but I finished reading "Mayflower" by Nathaniel Philbrick. It's excellent. Can I ask my astute Ldotters to recommend similar non-fiction historical novels? Thanks!
