3XALADY  Good to 'see' you. How are you doing? You were on my mind on June 1 and I said a prayer that you won't have much of a hurricane season. I have rented a house in Port Charlotte for the month of October and hoping they will be through by then but not worried about it.

Gram77  Am I getting too old to understand all this? I remember when this red head was on a fun sit-com and enjoying success. Then came what I call sick comedy and it seemed to be successful and accepted. Then, several years ago she came to Van Wezel in St. Pete, FL and a large number of the crowd walked out on her performance. Still she continued to perform. Hopefully she is done for good.

3XALADY  There is a photo out there of her and two other ladies posing with OUR PDJT in 2010. How things change. I understand she is a multi-millionaire so doubt she will be reduced to eating dog food. Probably Whoop-arse will invite her on The View and SNL will do a skit, then she will be in like Flynn again. That's how they work.

3XALADY posted on Main Page The Lobby  Good afternoon. Just put an apple cake in the oven and taking a break. It's been cloudy and dreary today but sun may shine yet. I'm enjoying my bird feeders - goldfinches, house finches, junkos, a pair of cardinals, many titmice, chickadees. I'm surprised the titmice can get their bums off the ground after all the sunflower seeds they've eaten this winter. Several different kinds of woodpeckers at the suet feeder, including a resident foot tall one, but I've forgotten what he is. Had to google him when he first came. Pilate? Trying to post picture of Sandhill Cranes that roamed our subdivision in Lake Suzy FL but it's not taking. Had to get new computer about a month ago and pffffft. Nothing works like it did.

3XALADY  Forgot to say part of the problem is CenturyLink internet. They have filled up the lines and you could take a nap in the time it takes to load a page on lucianne. Things work differently in the country I guess.

Kono  Not just a country phenomenon, 3XALADY. This afternoon the waits to load pages from LCom were taking forever here, to the point that I just assumed there was another DDOS attack on the site happening. And this is very much a city area.

I'd love to see those pics when you're finally able to upload them.

Can UPS some of that apple cake ?

3XALADY  Cake recipe was one I found on Facebook, love to try new things, but that one has already hit the trash can. The kids ate it up but it wasn't up to my standards and took an hour (cake, cream cheese middle and topping made w/butter brown sugar, etc. ). If you like apple cake, I have a recipe I'll share that came from first DH's Aunt Leah maybe 50 years ago, has boiled brown sugar icing that's kind of like brown sugar fudge. Cake is good too. I'd rather be there and bake it for you. I'm supposed to be busy today finishing three more doll dresses for my craft show on Friday and Saturday but so far today I've found other things to do. After sewing pretty steadily for 3 years, haven't done much since May when I lost DH and I may have lost my sewing mojo. I may just plan on doing a couple of shows a year, just to keep my fingers in it. I have so many patterns and so much fabric it would be a shame to just drop it. I may try to post pictures some time.

3XALADY  I finally got rid of all the duplicate posts. Kono, I always wonder if the slow loading of lucianne's pages (sometimes 3-4 minutes/page ) is CenturyLink or their site, no way to know. I also have found when I try to shop from a Beall's email, pages time out before everything gets loaded. Do you also have CenturyLink? I had no problem with it when I was in FL and niece said it wasn't always like this, just the last year or so. Didn't Zippy turn over the internet to another country some time last year? I sure do know it's frustrating. EC how do you post pictures? I don't see the little camera thingy.

3XALADY posted on Main Page The Lobby  Good morning everyone. My subject today is the internet. I've moved to the country and consequently my Century Link internet is kind of slow and sux when it does work. But my question is - I think I read that Obola signed our internet over to the UN and I'm just wondering if that is the problem because I don't remember it being so bad - or nonexistent - when I first got here the first of October. I posted on my facebook page about how bad it was and several people concurred with me. Are any of you having the problem - when I am on lucianne and click on a page, I can go do something and come back and it's still not loaded. Ice storm on Friday, then snow on Saturday. My first winter weather in 16 years, but I will live.

Tulsa  Morning. That means you have a dish yes? Ice or snow 'in' the dish will interfere with a signal. And so will sheeting rain, fyi. The solution for snow is to buy a can of de-icer and spray your dish...hopefully you can reach it with a ladder. Ours is on the edge of roof in back of the home. The Suit used to just brush it out. The de-icer is easier.

We built in the city in 2002. We were the last phase of this subd. There were no cable (Comcast ) lines run, tho I called them for months and told them 30+ houses were being built. Comcast here is a terrible franchise. ...bad service. We we are fortunate they ignored me. We have DirecTV.

Tulsa  And. Even without bad weather Sat. Internet is almost as bad as dial up, I'm told. Hughes advertises as being the best. You could search the web to see if there are ratings should you ever consider a change and if there is anything to boost speed.

Stay warm and well. It's freezing in the South too.

3XALADY posted on Main Page The Lobby  @Escapedcommieny I came in to look around as I sometimes do, was looking for you and wanted to tell you I am in Missouri now, in Warrenton with sweet niece and her husband in Warrenton. I saw your post in early June asking for prayers for me because of the loss of my DH. Thank you so much, and thanks to all of you sending your love and best wishes. Boy, what a change in my life - from Florida to Missouri (weather! ) and I just can't get used to walking into church by myself. But I hope to get better with it. We didn't have kids so I'm thankful my sweet niece wanted me in her and her family's life so I'm not down there in FL all by myself. No matter how bad things are, there are things to be grateful for. My DH passed away after being very ill for a week. Hug that loved one you share your life with, you never know when it will be the last time. Christmas blessings to all of you and thank you again for your good thoughts. I couldn't have made it this far if it weren't for my prayer warrior friends. EC I have lost your email. Send me one so I will have it again. And in case you all didn't know, EC made me feel welcome at her home in case another hurricane was headed my way in Florida. Thankfully I didn't have to take her up on it, but that invitation was there. Thank you, sweet friend, even though I've never met you.

Gerty  3XALADY!!! With so many mixed emotions...happy to see you posting here, so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband, agree with your admiration of EC, hoping you adjust to the yuge climate change from sunny Florida, grateful for the hospitality extended by your niece, and, most of all---looking forward to seeing you comment here more often! Merry Christmas!

3XALADY  I got your email, EC and as I said, will answer when I have a 'wordy' day. It will come. Thanks for all your blessings. EC I appreciate that invitation and who knows that I won't take you up on it. I'm returning to see friends in Port Charlotte, but I've not spent much time on your side so there's that possibility. I have a 9 year old rescued Min. Schnauzer so it's not easy to get away. Niece goes back to work on Monday, 5-1/2 week old baby goes to sitter, 4 year old to Kiddie Kollege and her DH goes to work so I will have the house to myself again. It is so quiet when I'm here by myself. I started sewing clothes for the 18" doll a couple of years ago and guess that is my job in retirement. Have to find a venue here like the one I went to in Sarasota. I sold $2,500 worth of doll clothes in three weekends last year. And I need to get back to it and probably will when the snow starts falling. We're in the country on hilly, curvy roads so I'll probably park my car for a few months when the snow starts. Wishing for all of you God's richest blessings at this holiday season. Our biggest blessing is that a certain lady will not be re-entering our White House and for that, I'm eternally thankful.

3XALADY  These are just a few of the ones I've made and I'm busy every Monday, Tue. and Wednesday. I'm making them to sell at craft shows in the fall and at the holidays. They are not miniature like the Barbie clothes. Just a good size. The dolls are 18" tall. The one on the left is an American Girl.

Bettijo  When Barbie first came out, there were no clothes for her, nor were there any patterns. I made over 100 original outfits for Barbie dolls to be sold at a bazaar for charity. We sold out in no time. My grand daughters have American Doll dolls and I have been meaning to sew for them, but haven't yet.

Seminolesecure  My mom made neat clothes for my Tammy doll. She was the sporty non-buxom version of Barbie (who my mom frowned upon ). I still have them. American Girl size would be less tedious to make! Cute clothes!

Bettijo  Hobby Lobby had McCall patterns for 99 cents this week. I bought a pattern for the 18" doll and some fabric and intended to make something today, but did not get to it....maybe tomorrow? Anyway there are also free patterns on the Internet which I have printed out. The problem is that I do not have a doll for a model. When Barbie first came out, she was real inexpensive. I don't remember how much she cost in 1959, but I was dirt poor and I was able to buy one for a model. The American Girl dolls are expensive and even the copy 18 inch doll at WalMart is about $20. My grand daughters each have one, but they are over 700 miles away. Any suggestions for a model?

3XALADY posted on Main Page The Lobby  1. Is anyone posting the Ulstermann's posts? I get a lot of them on my facebook page and will post them if no one else is.

2. Rush today played an ad by the RNC and it's great. Takes Preezy's speech yesterday (? ) and shows it's just a tired old repeat of all the other ones he has done. Word for word almost. No wonder the MSM is peeping in their pants. They can't cover it much longer.

Yottyhere  I would clear it with management or post them on the Politics page.
There is a pretty clear divide as to who believes and follows that particular site and those who think its a farce.
SInce we have a Wall designated for solely politics I would be in favor of that wall.
Then the believers can access it there and discuss it.
