Doublesharp The S&W M&P is my choice. I keep the M&P40c with an X-grip as a nightstand gun and use the 296 airweight 44special Centennial as a dog walking gun. My everyday carrygun is a S&W mod 337 scandium j frame revolver. Weight does matter to me. The 337 goes about 14 oz loaded so it goes in my right front pocket, the 296 at about 22 oz is better in a holster or jacket pocket and, at about 2 lbs for the 40c and 15 rounds, it stays by the bed.
