Dan Miller  The judge in the court martial of Major Nidal Hasan has been replaced and Major Hasan will probably get to keep his beard. Now, maybe, the trial can continue, maybe he will be convicted of multiple murders and just maybe he will get the appropriate punishment. Don't count on it anytime soon.

Prudente  Since I'm not very sharp, I don't understand this beard thing. He was and still is in the Military. Beards aren't allowed except for "special" reasons, ex: beards are sometimes beneficial to some black skin, therefore can be allowed. But, that's neither here nor there. Just try the guy and then execute him. It seems like something is very fishy that it's taken so long and all the excuses in avoiding a trial.

Safetydude  Our military has lost it's way, along with the rest of our society.

We, and the military, are ruled by PC and leaders who are hypocrites and are more concerned about career advancements than their duty.

Until Hasan has been cashiered he is still in the Army and has to adher to Army grooming standards and comes under the UCMJ which can force him to get rid of his beard, religion or no regilon.

I don't know what Army Command Ft. Hood comes under, I guess I could look it up, but I'll bet a dime to a doughnut that, whoever the Commander is, he doesn't want to have anything to do with the massacre at Ft.Hood. For him whatever decision he makes it'll be the wrong one and his career is in the dumps.

If Hasan had been a Catholic, Lutheran, Protestant, Baptist, Mormon, 7th Day Adventist, et al, and had shouted 'The Lord God Is My Savior' as he did the killing the trial would have been over two years ago and Hasan would be spending time with the 78 virgins, promised to him by the 'peaceful religion of islam'(Lower case intended ).

We live in a society of crumbling values and it has even taken a hold in our military and it goes all the way to our senior commanders, ie General Petraus, et al.

It started with Clinton and the honor of our leadership, not our forces, has deteriorated ever since.

The JCS used the be the standard to which all members of the military could look up to but since Clinton they are just political hacks, serving out their time 'till they can get a cushy position in the Government or in the 'military industrial complex'.(Thank you Dwight Eisenhower ) The spokesman for the JCS refered to the shooting as 'an act of work place violence, not terrorism'.

There was a small bright light of leadership with President George W. Bush but the military is run by uniformed bureaucrats, not leaders.

There are Generals, Commanders and Leaders, not all are the same.

There will never be justice in the Ft. Hood Massacre because the Army, or the USA, will never execute a muslim.

My .05 worth.
