   Richdet  That's Herbert Marshall. They are Horace and Regina Giddens in the movie of Lillian Hellman's "The Little Foxes," directed by William Wyler. Horace & Regina are not a happy couple. One of the most memorable scenes on either actor's resume is the final confrontation of Horace & Regina.

   Richdet  Below is the scene I had in mind. Perfect example of four pros (Wyler, Davis, Marshall, and Greg Toland, the cinematographer ) doing remarkable work with Hellman's melodramatic scene.

Keep in mind Marshall lost a leg during World War I, which may or may not have influenced Wyler's staging and the idea of keeping the camera on Regina's face as Horace stumbles off. But then note how Marshall handles the stairs, all of that made further effective by Toland, who is employing here the "deep focus" cinematography he had just perfected in "Citizen Kane." Anyhow here it is:
