StormCnter Good morning everyone. Here's an oldie goldie that might be appropriate for this day: (1949 ) "A rueful wife (circa 1910 ) recalls 20 years of her husband's financial fumbles, as she keeps a boarding house to support the family."

MeiDei Do you know we, as kids, had chicken every Sunday in some form or another, depending on what the butcher recommended. Wasn't it Roosevelt who ran on the slogan: "A chicken in every pot"? Now I miss my mother's cooking; there are some recipes of hers I try to duplicate but come up short. I think there's a big difference between a gas broiler and an electric one, the 1st being best.

StormCnter Oh, chicken (always fried ) was a Sunday dinner tradition in our extended family, too. No matter if we ate at home or at an aunt's or a grandmother's, the after-church Sunday dinner was fried chicken and all the "fixin's".
