Barbarian Heretic posted on Main Page The Lobby Been saying this for several years, and I'm gonna say it again: Sarah Palin would be an outstanding RNC Chair. Articulate, combative, charismatic and a fundraising machine...

MirJoy I wonder if there's anyone in the RNC who would be wise enough to offer it to her, and I wonder if she would accept; I think she would for the good of the country, but so many of the powers-that-be can't ever see past themselves and will never admit how really corrupt the whole process is.

Barbarian Heretic posted on Main Page The Lobby Well, some good news today... Obama puts Biden in charge of a "Task Force" on gun policy and gun violence issues. This clearly signals the president is not very serious, or at least only as serious as he was when he had a "Blue Ribbon Panel" on deficit reduction...

Barbarian Heretic posted on Main Page The Lobby Remember the "Debt Ceiling Deal"? NO CUTS. That's what sequestration (automatic cuts ) is all about. Now we're talking about raising taxes WITHOUT ANY SPENDING CUTS...again. I say "Let's cliff dive"! How else can you get SERIOUS and REAL spending cuts? I'll take the short term pain on behalf of my kids- how 'bout you?

Ole buzzard The only way we're going to achieve any serious cuts is wholesale elimination of departments and programs. Tax increases should not even be on the table. The only thing DC should be talking about is REAL SPENDING CUTS!!

Barbarian Heretic posted on Main Page The Lobby It was great to see the union-thuggery in reaction to the Michigan law passed yesterday. We need a little more low-level vilence in society- especially in our legislatures...

Barbarian Heretic Don was a great L-dotter. Very witty guy- and very humble. I found out recently he was one of the original "Junction Boys" of Texas A&M football fame who played under Bear Bryant. He was also a Marine Corp veteran. sad he's not here to celebrate the new Heisman winner from Aggieland...

Barbarian Heretic posted on Main Page The Lobby Did you hear or read yesterday that Geitner was quoted as saying Obama is willing to go over the Fiscal Cliff rather than compromise his "principle" of raising taxes? Tell me- why hasn't Boehner expressed a similar principle in defense of Constitutionally Limited Government? Is there a better principle on which to make a heroic political stand? I can't think of one. But Boehner can't seem to articulate that. Why?

Ole buzzard Because Boehner doesn't have a spine. That's a prerequisite for making a "heroic political stand".

NotaBene It is amazing the Republicans have not done anything since the election. They might be in shock as most of us are but we continue working and so should they. Boehner was not seen during the election. Where was he?

Barbarian Heretic posted on Main Page The Lobby Ultimately, history will hang around the neck of the president. He is supposed to be leading, shaping the course. Okay- so we have seen his leadership "style"- it is summarized as "I won, do as I say". Well, that's not good enough. So I say Boehner and the GOP should bring on the cliff. Let's cliff dive, and let the chips fall where they may.

Barbarian Heretic posted on Main Page The Lobby Remember 2008/2009? We were told the economy would collapse if we didn't bail out the banking industry? Turns out they took the money and laughed. Remember we had to pay $Trillion stimulus or we'd all be living in cardboard boxes? Turned out the majority of the money went to non-stimulative expenditures. Remember "shovel ready infrastructure projects"? Remember GM and Chrysler were gonna "pay us back in full"? It all turned out to be a big steamin' pile of BS. So why should I believe any of them NOW? Let's give "the cliff" a chance to cut spending 9% across-the-board, then win some elections and re-instate some tax cuts. I'm a "Cliff Diver" because I don't believe the lies anymore.
