Montanabound There is so much filler. It is a shame that a lot of events get no coverage at all.

Gerty Don't know if it is the woefully inadequate coverage, the delivery of the events, or the stories about training the athletes, etc. But I am just not into the Olympics this go around.

Tulunk A ny truth to the story that Bob Costas, commenting on a win by a black contestant from some other country crooned about the athlete as an "African American" from France, (or wherever )?

Cgood posted on Main Page The Lobby Paranoia is setting in. We hadn't received our tax refund yet, so I ended up calling the IRS. Spent 50 minutes on hold before I finally got help from a DMV clone with attitude. She took my information, put me back on hold, and then proceeded to inform me that their logs indicate that our tax return was never received by IRS! How convenient. We now have to resubmit our taxes and start the clock all over again. I wonder if we'll ever see the money. We must have been flagged as registered republicans. Perhaps it's because we are from a red state. See, paranoia. Has anyone else had this problem.

Wattkid First, you can check the status of your refund on-line at www.irs.gov. Second, suggest you consider filing on-line next time. Tax preparer gives you immediate confirmation that you submitted your return. IRS confirms receipt and gives preliminary OK in a couple of days. Refund is deposited in your checking account in 10 days or so. There is no need to speak to government drones.

Cgood posted on Lucianne.com That was a lovely tribute. I know how hard it is to lose a brother far too soon. Next Saturday, it will be two years since my brother Jerry fell to pancreatic/liver cancer. All we can do for our treasured brothers is remember them, love them. and be grateful for the time we had them. If Jonah ever decides to write a book about Josh's life, I'd love to read it. We cannot allow such a fine man to be forgotten.
