John C Anti Tax rally held today on Boston Common. Tea Party and other sponsors. MA. legislature is debating today (Sat ) whether to raise our taxes by $5 hundred million or a Billion. Must put in some new rail lines and can't do anything about fraud in the state. Guess 4,000 attendees, Gov. Patrick, politicians and newspapers will ignore it or say a few hundred showed up.

John C From the planners website. http://www.marchforlife.org/content/view/46/1/
In 2013, the anniversary date of the Roe v. Wade decision will fall on Tuesday, the day following the public ceremonies marking the Presidential Inauguration. We were not able to secure an adequate number of hotel rooms early in the week, so we have scheduled the March for Life on Friday, January 25, 2013. Our hotel block will be available starting on Wednesday, January 23 and running through Friday night, January 25.
Please plan now to attend. Your presence, in growing numbers every year, is the best way to draw attention to the untenable legacy of Roe v. Wade, and to persuade our leaders to eradicate it from America’s future.

BirdsNest Change of plans for this event for us. We paid for and were promised a corner space, but it seems they have given it to another vendor so we asked for a refund and we will not be in attendance. Anyone in the area is still free to go, it is a great event and there is lots to do there.

Linder Up and off early tomorrow morning for the District Republican Convention...about an hours drive and I will be going alone so that I can stop off at 7 yr. old granddaughter Molly's evening birthday party on my way home. We will elect district committee people to sit on the state central committee and ratify a district platform. The platform can get tedious and contentious but always interesting. Back in the day when I was more involved and served as district Republican Women's president I knew many people in the district. I'm anxious to see if many of my old acquaintances are still involved. The State Presidential Convention will be in June and we elect delegates to National Convention then. It would be interesting to learn how different states conduct party business.

Saguni For the L-dotters and Connectors within driving distance of Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, I would like to invite you to come to the Friends of the Metropolitan Library's Annual Booksale, February 25 and 26. It is held in the Oklahoma Expo Hall at the State Fairgrounds. Free entrance on Saturday and Sunday. In the bigger "General" room, all hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents. In the other room, is "Collector's Choice," books in much better condition, this year's bestsellers and antique or First Editions, individually priced and great bargains! Our booksale is one of the top five in the country, all work is done by volunteers and all proceeds go back to the library. The branch librarians send us a "wish list" for programs, art or improvements not in the county budget, and the profits pay for these items. Our website is-- http://www.supportmls.org/friends --and it has pictures of previous sales. I will be at the back of the "General" room, working at the Volunteer Tables.

Surfhut PS. It was pretty funny, going to the table and trying to explain why I was there and who I was meeting. I didn't recognize Saguni ... the police officer was staring at me ... when I finally said we met online via Lucianne, she jumped up and we had a hug-fest! Great fun!

Saguni I'm sorry I missed you, they pulled me to help serve lunch for the volunteers who are there from 8 to 3. The police officer sits there because it is in front of the "financial room," at the end of the sale I found out our total this year was just over $230K! We have been trying to break 1/4 million for several years, but don't quite make it, but that's not bad for a 3 day sale.

Jcbethcjsmama Dear fellow L-dotters: I am a huge fan of Lucianne.com and have been coming here daily for years now! I sing in a ladies barbershop quartet called Deja Vu. We have been performing together all over Colorado since 2002 and are all members of Sweet Adelines International. We also sing in 2 award winning barbershop choruses-Skyline in Denver (150+ members ) and Bella Voce (20 members ) from Craig, Colorado. Recently our quartet competed in the Sing! Contest through Aspen Grove Shopping Center/Developers Diversified Realty. We were thrilled to be chosen to represent Colorado in the national phase of the Sing! Competition which began October 18th through October 31st. Online voting will decide the grand prize winner from groups around the country who will receive a $20,000 donation to the charity of their choice and the once-in-a-lifetime experience of working with Emmy®-award-winning singer/songwriter Kevin Briody. If lucky enough to win, we would donate the money to the Young Singers Foundation-an official charity of Sweet Adelines International committed to enriching the lives of young people by supporting the educational and performance opportunities in vocal music.
For the contest, we learned one of Kevin Briody's songs that is posted at www.2011sing.com for online voting until 12pm EST on October 31st. You can vote once a day per email address or it is really easy to vote through your Facebook page-simply click on the FB link under "Register" and it takes you in to vote without having to register. Our group Deja Vu is second in votes and really needs support to have a chance to win for our charity. If any L-dotters could vote for us, we really would appreciate it-it is for a great cause! Thanks so much!

Belwhatter Tuesday, June 7th,the Bellingham Tea party has a big meeting with speaker Craig Cole on the subject of building the deep water facility at Cherry Point. This issue has pitted enviros[ including the finger in the wind Mayor of Bellingham] against regular people - the railroad snakes it's way up the coast and will increase its present cargo from 4 trains per day to 11 per day bringing coal and grain to export. It will also mean lots of good jobs in an area hard pressed for decent wage jobs outside of government paid college and hospital employment.
