Eagles Dominion  Still holds true 48 years later...

The Sheepdogs

Most humans truly are like sheep
Wanting nothing more than peace to keep
To graze, grow fat and raise their young,
Sweet taste of clover on the tongue.
Their lives serene upon Life’s farm,
They sense no threat nor fear no harm.
On verdant meadows, they forage free
With naught to fear, with naught to flee.
They pay their sheepdogs little heed
For there is no threat; there is no need.

To the flock, sheepdog’s are mysteries,
Roaming watchful round the peripheries.
These fang-toothed creatures bark, they roar
With the fetid reek of the carnivore,
Too like the wolf of legends told,
To be amongst our docile fold.
Who needs sheepdogs? What good are they?
They have no use, not in this day.
Lock them away, out of our sight
We have no need of their fierce might.

But sudden in their midst a beast
Has come to kill, has come to feast
The wolves attack; they give no warning
Upon that calm September morning
They slash and kill with frenzied glee
Their passive helpless enemy
Who had no clue the wolves were there
Far roaming from their Eastern lair.
Then from the carnage, from the rout,
Comes the cry, “Turn the sheepdogs out!”

Thus is our nature but too our plight
To keep our dogs on leashes tight
And live a life of illusive bliss
Hearing not the beast, his growl, his hiss.
Until he has us by the throat,
We pay no heed; we take no note.
Not until he strikes us at our core
Will we unleash the Dogs of War
Only having felt the wolf pack’s wrath
Do we loose the sheepdogs on its path.

And the wolves will learn what we’ve shown before;
We love our sheep, we Dogs of War.

Lana720  It is with a heavy heart that I post this from an e-mail from Kevin Coughlin's daughter. He posted here as Marine Tet Cap or something like that. At this point, I do not recall. Those of you who loved his posts and or e-mails will want to pray for those he loved.
Knowing Kevin, he would not want us to grieve, but to be happy that he will spend Easter with our risen Savior!
I will also post this at other places here.
God bless you and Happy Easter!

This is Melissa, Kevin’s daughter. I am saddened and heartbroken to announce my dad’s passing on 3/15. I’m just now sitting on his computer looking thru recent e-mails.
His friends/contact list is so long and not organized, so it’s taking a while to inform everyone. Not sure how you know my dad…but I see your name a lot on his e-mail list.

I’m at melissacoughlin@hotmail.com if you have any questions.

www.spanglermortuary.com for obituary info.

Hope you are well….~Melissa

Rake King  O B I ran into this funny sign, that may bring back some memories of our early military days, when we were too young to know better....that we could not drink the breweries dry.

Ole buzzard  I enlisted at the examining station in Milwaukee WI, which was directly across the street from the Pabst brewery. After enlisting, my group had to wait for our transportation to Mitchell Field, so we took the brewery tour.

Draggingtree  A Sleeping Giant by Anthony Wells
Posted on March 15, 2013 by Dean Garrison
I fear that in my lifetime, the Second Amendment will be put to use for one of the reasons it was added to the Constitution. I believe the Second Amendment is the precipice that will decide our future as the United States of America. For some, this right is a vehicle for violence and destruction. For others, it is a means of self-preservation and insurance against the yoke of tyranny. Throughout history, there is evidence to support both opinions. However, it is the naivete of the first opinion that defeats its validity. It is the malignant heart of humankind that inflicts violence upon another, not the tool used to accomplish that violence. snip
