Gram77  It takes all kinds to make our world. Our park has a branch post office here and I was picking up my mail when I over heard a super obnoxious snow bird spouting off to any one who would listen that we did not have a hurricane. I scrammed while I could still keep my mouth shut and headed home. Wonder how he explains the mobile homes here that have been seriously damaged?

Lonestar Jack  In response to:"ESPN “SC6” host Jemele Hill sparked a firestorm of controversy for ESPN after she accused President Donald Trump of being a “white supremacist.”

ESPN invited her back because 2 other black announcers turned them down and they felt they needed black announcers.
Utterly stupid, but it reflects the mentality of Disney and ESPN execs,
The thing to do is let the advertisers know that you will not buy products from company who foster this BLM type garbage.

GO3  Some years ago Jamele Hill wandered off the reservation and wrote a column which actually castigated black men in general and black athletes in particular for being crappy role models, having a high crime rate, etc. All of this was true, but by acknowledging the truth she unleashed hell on herself. Her following columns tempered all of that until she gradually came home and has been writing the standard "us against the man" stuff ever since. She will not be fired because she did as she was told years ago and now she has carried it to her logical extreme. I follow Tulsa's advice and don't watch ESPN or go to their website. If I need sports info, I use foxsports.com. Jamele may fade away over time, but only of ESPN execs have a big change of heart.

Tulsa  Hello sweet Mei. We had scheduled things and then unscheduled things happened (iows, life ), both here and with family in SC. It's going to be another 6?8? weeks of 'not regularly programmed' living.

We are all in the Lord's hands and I would dearly love prayer for us and our family in SC.

Gram77  Hi All! Came home to a whole house. For Hubby and I, the toughest part was dealing with no power for 5 days, especially the sleeping. When we saw those homes in our park that did not escape damage we were very sad. Makes one wonder why we sustained no damage and others close to us did. Most of the damage is at homes of owners who are snow birds. That can't be easy. Well, it's good to be home and listen mother nature.....this is enough!

Escaped commieny  Glad Gram and Safety left, they are both west coasters. Can't remember where Phooey said they were moving, was it Port Richey or Fort Pierce ? If you are lurking D, check in. We are buttoned and stocked up. 3XALADY moved to MO after her DH passed, but had a rental for Port Charlotte next month, lucky she heard from the agent her deposit is returned. GW and BG are OK in Palm Beach and Miami.

Safetydude  Home safe and sound after leaving on Sunday. only one big hiccup; after passing through PC Beach I headed east to
intercept I-75. Big mistake; no gas. I made it to Wildwood and that was it. I had to stay there Monday night and was able to fill up around ten the next morning. There was gas but no power. Once I filled up it was an easy ride into North Port.
There was minimal damage to our community and , best of all, none to our home.
Thank you all for your concern and thoughts.

Gram77  Never dull this time of year in Florida. Pretty good size hurricane in the Atlantic and this time it's the east coast preparing. Hubby and I are on the Gulf side of the state but given the tracks so far we for sure will get pretty wet if nothing else. Our park is in an A Flood Zone which always makes things interesting. The weather guys tell us they will have more and better info by Friday. We shall see.

Gram77  Thanks a bunch. This particular area of Florida gets ready some times and we get lucky with only windy downpours. I haven't been this concerned for all of us since Andrew. Hubby and I are ready to leave if necessary. I think tomorrow will be the last I check out the movie site. Got my boots ready. : )

Phooey  Just a reminder: During the catastrophe known as 9/11 in NYC, the Connection's founder Joshua Goldberg ran toward danger to help in any way possible. May that same spirit inspire others during this Texas crisis.
