Not gonna take it anymore

| |
Not gonna take it anymore posted on Faith I had nothing and then one day I had everything. I became a Catholic at Easter vigil 2008. Best thing that ever happened to me. I went from someone who put off RCIA because if there was one thing I knew, it is that Catholics have to go to Sunday mass.
Now I go to daily mass. I thank God everyday for what he has done for me and for making me Catholic. I became a partner in a Catholic bookstore and have the opportunity to witness my love of Christ. The women's prison ministry in my community is an important part of my service to Christ.
That said, everyone is one their own faith journey and I wish them the best. Knowing that God is love.

Rollingcow When I took the step to join the Catholic Church nearly four years ago (before that I just attended Mass)little did I know what I started here in the Barn. My husband and son both joined the church last year (Mr. Cow had never been baptized despite attending various churches for over fifty years). Shortly thereafter The Calf and his wife had our two grandchildren baptised and this year our daughter in law is in RCIA getting ready to join as well. It's amazing to me what God gives us. Mrs. Cow

Timber Queen I was raised Catholic and attended 12 years of Catholic school, being educated by the Irish Sisters of Charity. What a blessing. However, in college I fell away from the Faith by listening to my lib professors. For twenty years I "believed" in the hogwash of the "New Age" mumbo-jumbo and led a life that was full of despair and darkness. 15 years ago Our Lord blessed me with a conversion (re-version?) experience during the Consecration at the funeral Mass for my best friend's grandmother. I returned to the Faith and have never looked back! Timber King, also raised Catholic and fallen away, joined me. I became a certified Catechist and started out with CCD for 6th graders, then took three classes through Confirmation preparation, and now I do RCIA for adult converts in my small parish. It is such a blessing to share the Faith and see the joy at their Easter reception of the Sacraments. Today, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend a Trinitine Mass (Latin). The third one in our area in the last few years. There has been enough interest that the Trinitine will be said on the first Sunday of every month! It is such a beautiful and sacred experience. Took me back to my early girlhood and school days. (I was 10 when the Mass went vernacular.) I truly felt the presence of my parents, grandparents, and all my ancestors who worshiped in that way. If you ever get a chance to attend a Trinitine Mass, please avail yourself of the opportunity.

Not gonna take it anymore I love being Catholic. I look back now and am in awe of His call. Who knew? I surely didn't. Mass is the most wonderful thing on earth because we are united with Heaven. Timber my little parish (700 families) has 4 masses on Sunday. Latin is at 5:00 every Sunday. http://stjoseph.auburncatholic.com/

Timber Queen NGTIA- 700 families a "small" parish?! We only have 150 families, and only Saturday vigil and two Masses on Sunday - one English and one Spanish. Our little church was built in 1903 and is lovely. We are struggling to keep it open, but God will provide. I had to drive 60 miles to attend the Trinitine, but it was worth it. To have the Latin Mass every Sunday is a great blessing. I have no converts to give instruction this year, and none last year, so to hear of folks coming to the Faith is wonderful news. I, too, love being Catholic. (Disclaimer - I honor all people of good faith and love to share theological insights from all.)

Not gonna take it anymore Timber, sorry. A bit of history. We have two parishes in my town and the other one is quite the larger one. (Population about 15,000 but does not county the area around us) My little (sorry) parish was dying until about 4.5 to 5 years ago when a new pastor came to town. He brought back more orthodox preaching and practices. Many in my parish were traveling down the interstate to find orthodox teaching. I believe we were down to fewer than 300 families and the diocese was thinking about closing this particular parish. This parish is where I was received into the Church. The other parish in town is very liberal and they have many more parishioners.

MsCharlotteVale I've noticed that God and Jesus always go to great lengths to bring back their own, no matter how far we stray or how much we sin. They just don't give up on us. I've sinned so much that if we still did animal sacrifices, there wouldn't be one cow left in America. Thank you, Jesus.

Not gonna take it anymore Today I was thinking yet again how lucky I am. Somehow God drew me into the Catholic Church. I am losing my job. But it's okay. I will find whatever it is I need to fund my life. God is so good. Thanks be to God.
