Persecutor2 posted on Veterans' Page & Militaria Gonna do a little chest-thumping too--Mentioned it on the mother site, my son just graduated from the two-year program at New Mexico Military Institute and was commissioned 2nd Lt. Two more years of school and he'll be 1st Lt. He got the highest male PT score award, graduated with high honors, and got the school's Douglas McArthur Award as the most "soldierly" graduating cadet. If I can pry loose some pics I'll share them. BTW, did I mention he has his jump wings?

Eagle's Dominion Well P2 this is the page where we came holler at the top of our lungs! ;- ) People that have no one in harms way or have never been in harm's way themselves cannot understand what we go through or what the families endure! After my son returned from his first deployment I actually called my mother and apologized for what I had put her through during Vietnam. LOL Congrats on your sons accomplishments!

Persecutor2 posted on Main Page The Lobby Interesting news from the mother site--I read that George Zimmerman is 1/8 black. That make him more black than Elizabeth Warren [allegedly] is American Indian. what about that?

Persecutor2 posted on Movies & Reviews Anyone seen "Apocalypto"? Just saw it in pieces on youtube. I think it has application to our present-day society, would be interested in other's thoughts. If you're curious to check it out, be warned--lotsa blood, and National-Geograpic-type nudity.

Bearman43 I saw the movie. It dispels the myth of peaceful, nature loving, idyllic living of the natives of America before the arrival of the Spanish. It takes a strong stomach to watch the whole movie. Especially the scenes showing human sacrifice.

Persecutor2 Yeah, the PC crowd hated it. But did you catch the quote at the beginning, "No society has ever been destroyed from without that hasn't destroyed itself from within"? And I saw a theme of the government and their hangers-on sacrificing the folks in the hinterlands ("flyover country" ) in an attempt to maintain their own privileged position.
Persecutor2 posted on Suggested Viewing/Listening Always think of my son when I hear this--he was so proud of the rings he bought at a little jewelry shop on the square here, my wife was so ticked off at the friends who set him up with the girl he married--but she's so proud of the grandbaby now...

Persecutor2 posted on Main Page The Lobby Sorry, guys, but I am so bloody depressed. Seems like the very nature of the issues today tells me we've lost the fight for freedom--we're reduced to hoping for victories in debates on things that shouldn't even be debatable. I keep thinking of a sci-fi short story I read decades ago, can't recall the particulars but the upshot was everybody was forced (not overtly, by gov't, but by manipulating the circumstances until there was no other choice ) to buy robot "servants" who proceeded to take over the households in the name of keeping their "masters" safe. Gently but irresistably firmly the "servants" prevented the kids from playing any game that had any possibility of injury. The wife could not do anything of any consequence in the kitchen--handling knives, mixers, hot stoves--she might get injured. (Story was written in the 50's or so, the family set-up was very Cleaver-ish ). I think you get the idea--everyone wound up just sitting around being cared for--and grew stunted in soul and body and mind. It was the most heartbreaking fictional story I have ever read, and it's happening right before my eyes.
Struan Sounds like Azimov & I, Robot , P2. Can't precisely remember my misspent yoot's subversive readings.
And yes, it IS depressing but don't give in to one of Alinksy's Rules for Radicals to wit - "Demoralize the populace." The constant assault on all traditional American institutions, on all Judeo-Christian core beliefs, even the assault on English Common Law by the collectivists is designed to debilitate, discourage and disparage the true American spirit. They seek to undermine and enfeeble us by the unrelenting and ruthless attacks on everything we hold dear.
Don't know about you but that doesn't depress me - IT URINATES ME THE HELL OFF! Gets my fighting spirit hungry & snarling. Don't get depressed - get mad! Get even! DO something - volunteer w/the American fighting unit of your choice. Get prepared. Do something.
Phoo - The Mouse That Roared . Good example - they DID something.

Persecutor2 Just in a funk, Stru--when I think of "doing something", in terms of advocacy, political action, etc, I'm put in mind of another sci-fi tale. The background to the story was that America had become so dumbed down that the few intelligent people left basically had to function as "keepers' for the vast majority, in ways that the dummies couldn't see. the immediatre example was a lab assistant who was actually the "keeper" for a hospital where the doctors, nurses, etc were all , well, dummies. I feel close to that now, how many people, supposedly with functioning brains, will be fooled by 0's latest "compromise"? Heck, how did it even get strted in the first place, that contraception= health care drivel? Gotta bone up on the "Mouse" tale, thanks for clearing up the reference.

Belwhatter Hey there Persecutor - I too was feeling down and depressed but I have just been watching Newt followed by Breitbart at CPAC, and feel greatly encouraged by their positive plans to fight back. Newt put his finger on just about every hot button issue and some others too, plus he had a plan to deal with each one of them. Breitbart, witty and insightful regarding the ascendancy of BHO to his current impostorship, has a plan too - hope you can get to see them on rerun or you tube - well worth the effort.
Surfhut His name is Barbarian Heretic (I think ). Go to the Look Up Members tab on the side panel, type in at least part of his name. It will bring up his recent posts.

Persecutor2 posted on Barbarian Heretic Heretic--Still waiting for my wife to send me the pics, but you might be interested-- I just had 9 stitches removed from the area above, and including, my upper lip, courtesy of a collision with another player on the soccer field (yes, I was coming out of the box to confront a breakaway forward. ) Tell that pretty gal of yours to be careful! I played again last Saturday--and determined that I'm not being aggressive enough--go figure...

Barbarian Heretic ouch! Good way to lose teeth, too. That's one of the hazards of the position (when played well ) that few people realize... BTW- daughter went through tryouts and got bumped to the best team in the age group in her club. We're heading to Texas in a few weeks to visit a couple universities that have expressed interest (Texas A&M, of course ). Hope you are fully healed, P2 ! Best wishes...

Persecutor2 Yeah, we were worried about the tooth at first, but it's happily not an issue. I have a nice little scar, when the light catches it just right it's pretty impressive-- LOL! Was hoping to play today but it's been raining (YAY!! ) so the field's probably too wet. Good news re your daughter--I know some folks went to A&M.

Persecutor2 posted on Movies & Reviews Killing some time at Wal-Mart last night while daughter was shopping--I saw a DVD cover for "Hoosiers" and remembered how much I liked that movie--especially the part where Hackman tells the ref, "My team's on the floor." Strange the things that get to me--
