RoseOfTexas posted on Movies & Reviews  I got your movie review right here! Tonight's Redbox movie (freebie promo code = FRIENDS good today & tomorrow ): Non-Stop, an action movie on a plane. They had me at Liam Neeson (he has a certain set of skills ) & Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey ). This was a tense thriller that held my attention & my only complaint is the politically correct ending. Another familiar face was the young Congressman who gets in all kinds of trouble from House of Cards.

RoseOfTexas  BTW this review was not meant to root for a "side" here...coincidence that I happened to show up in the middle of this. I love the quizzes & plan to participate again in the future when I get caught up on a few other things. That said, Lone Survivor was my movie tonight. I read the book years ago so I knew the general gist of the plot. I thought it was well done & respectful of our military. It was horrific seeing the injuries they sustained but I think it was important to see this, to know that we have such bravery defending us & what it costs them. The book's author has a few, I wouldn't even call them cameo, appearances, just you see his face in a briefing & maybe on a helicopter for just a second each.

RoseOfTexas posted on Suggested Reading  I just finished The Target, the latest in David Baldacci's Will Robie series. Will is again paired with Jessica Reel & part of the action takes place in North Korea. Definitely a page-turner.

I also recently read the 2 latest Alex Berenson spy novels Night Ranger & Counterfeit Agent & realized I had never suggested his books here so wanted to rectify that. I was captivated by his first novel The Faithful Spy & have read all the rest in the John Wells series.

MeiDei  "The Ruins" by Scott Smith - take a pass. Read 50 pages, skipped to pg. 55, then 70, etc. Read the last 5 or 6.
Most unpleasant book. Supposedly about archeology...so it peaked my interest; bummer nothing about it except an attempt to find the site & team.
