Safari Man posted on Main Page The Lobby Greg Hunter has a lot of interesting interviews, many bordering on crackpot (although many of these crackpots make a bunch of sense to me, they just haven been proven correct yet ). Most of the time the people are hawking gold or silver. I am not a gold/silver investor, although I wish I knew more about it. I am convinced we're headed for a bad bad crash and I still don't know how to protect my savings. In any case, this interview was very intersting...
Are you as offended as I am when you're reading lucianne.com and see an ad for a Dimocrat appear before your eyes? I am seeing Wendy Davis ads for Texas Governor. I am lothe to click them, until I realize... hey this will cost the Dims MONEY if I click on this. So I am clicking away on every dimocrat ad I see. Join me and help cost the dims money!

Lonestar Jack No more so than the libs who advertise on FOX and FOX . Perhaps the worst are Progressive Insurance and the AARP folks. I know it is a matter of readership numbers, but I wish they would go to the Alan Colmes and Al Jezera fiascos. That would also include Wendy Davis. I don't think you can click enough times to make a dent in the pay per click sites. As I recall the most any of my clients had to pay was $.25 a click that went through deep enough into the site to be considered a payable click.
MissBlue Mozilla Foxfire doesn't display ads, thank goodness! I have seen far too much of Miss Davis and her blasted pink sneakers. Please keep your fingers crossed that she loses this fall in her run for governor.

Safari Man posted on Main Page The Lobby The hottest internet meme is the Pharrell Williams' "Happy" tune being danced to from various cities all over the world. Its a fun meme, but this one is worth sharing wider. To me it shows that you don't need material wealth or even perfect health to be happy. Too many people today are making themselves very unhappy in the pursuit of happiness through external gratification. And our government is telling you to be unhappy if someone else has more than you do. See what you think after watching this.
Rollingcow I love this song. Pharrell Williams may be another one hit wonder, but this song is a good one to be remembered by. Happiness comes from within, no one can give it to you but you and if you are secure in the knowledge that Christ is your Lord you have no reason to be unhappy. More people should remember that. Safari Man posted on Main Page The Lobby Apologies if this is an inappropriate topic, but I've held off asking this for year now: anyone know what happened to photoonist? I always appreciated the effort he/she put in around here and as of 11/6/12, nothing -- no posts, no comments. It seems photoonist threw in the towel when Obama one a second term. I know the feeling, but I sure hate to see such great contributors disappear.
Saguni I may be wrong, but right after 0bama's first election, he may have said something along the lines of, "just talking about things hasn't helped anything" and quit posting. It may have been of election night.

Losgatos Good question. I think I read everything Photoonist ever posted. He/she could be counted on for good stuff.

Phooey I count myself as one of many 'stalkers' of Photoonist. We have lost a brilliant mind.

Safari Man @Saguni tha was my recollection as well. Except I think you meant after the re-election, not "first election". However, I am still surprised that such an avid contributor could really go cold turkey like that.
I have promised myself that once I get myself to a state where I can shut off the internet and ignore the goings on in DC, I will. As long as I have investments and live in this country, its going to be difficult to feel like I can totally disengage. I do believe that its bad for one's mental health to keep up on politics too much, especially for those of us around here who can see the country/culture eroding so quickly.
Well, if anyone knows photoonist or if photoonist happens to be lurking, I really do mist the valuable contributions. I always felt like s/he had brilliant insights and I learned a lot from that.

Safari Man posted on Main Page The Lobby If you are using Safari under the new Mavericks OS, you may be experiencing heinous performance with the lucianne.com site. I may have a solution. I found this:
And I did this myself and it seems to help so far.

Balogreene Interesting. But I downloaded the new Maverick the same day we increased our download speed from 15 to 75. I have only noticed a huge increase in speed : )

Safari Man Well, I also changed the setting for "Block cookies..." from "Never" to "From Third Parties and advertisers" so perhaps you were always blocking cookies and didn't accumulate masses of garbage like I had.
