Tulsa

Tulsa posted on Movies & Reviews  I watched and enjoyed Mrs. Brown last night. I could not make out the last words of 'John Brown' to the Queen. I searched and searched. Today it dawned on me to search for the script to the movie. Found it and it answered my question. 'Not too close.'

Butler was 28 when he made Mrs. Brown and if you fine people had not told me he was Archie Brown, I never would have recognized him. It was his teeth or mouth in particular. He is now handsome, imo. He was not then.

Tulsa posted on Movies & Reviews  FYI

Another remake of A Star is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper…in production. Sam Elliott is in this one. I’d watch just to see him!

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1517451/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Book Club with Candice Bergan, Diane Keaton and another one and unfortunately jane fonder too, so I will not see that one.

StormCnter  Good morning, Tulsa. My daughter and I disagree on Lady Gaga. She is a fan and I think I'm too old. I'll pass on the ASIB remake.

As for the "Book Club", it might be good. I won't pay for Jane Fonda, though, so I'll wait til it shows up on OnDemand.

However, it looks like the movies' writers are cloning the type of old-friends-doing-funny-things-together genre that Morgan Freeman seems to be trapped in (think "Just Getting Started", "Now You See Me", "Going in Style" ).

   Tulsa  Good morning to you.

Saw GaGa for the first time on the I’m Still Standing tribute to Elton John recently. As Bill O’Reilly once said ‘she knows how to promote herself’.

A WOW for me was Maren Morris who did Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters. Incredible. She had Bernie Taupin mouthing ‘wow’ too. She is country I believe and if you like country (I do ) you must hear ‘My Church’.

I did not know until that night that John writes the music and Taupin the lyrics.

No to fonda under any circumstances. You might too when you hear their book choice. 50 shades of gray. please, no..oh please, NO!

Tulsa posted on Main Page The Lobby  Another way to avoid ads altogether everywhere is to download and use the Brave.com browser. No ads. None.

I downloaded it 2? years ago, but seldom used it. I used Firefox and the Edge browser that came with Win. 10. One day recently Edge disappeared from this desktop. Our tech spent a couple of hours trying to retrieve it or re-download it with no success.

A few weeks later Edge disappeared from The Suit's laptop. So I downloaded Brave for him and used my settings. It took me a while to find my way around. What I lack in tech savvy, I make up in being tenacious. Happy surfing, Ldotters!

Kono  I wish you all better success with this approach than I've had. For the first week or two of using brave I found it to be the refuge its fans touted; but after a couple of weeks I get nearly as many ads on brave as I have on firefox.

The advertisers will find a way to get to you, and there is seemingly no escape from their stalking.

Tulsa posted on Computers &Tech Issues  In Brave, the print feature is now working. I noted there had been many comments concerning this on the Brave forum. I've had several updates recently (relaunches ) and apparently print has been repaired. I clicked the 'hamburger', upper right and clicked print there. Then to test, I typed 'page 1' and printed the home page of Lucianne. Success! I do hope it works for others.

StormCnter  Thank you, Tulsa. I had stopped using Brave because of the print problem, but I'll go back and check it out. I appreciate you.

Tulsa posted on Movies & Reviews  How do I post a picture? The way I learned is invalid. The html tags are not accepted here, but I can't make heads or tails of the code that runs across the top of the page. Do I use some of it or all of it? It goes too fast.

I tried to post the old code I used, but my entire comment did not 'take'. Thank you.

StormCnter  Tulsa, if you're just posting a regular photo, a .jpg or something, I save them to my computer (usually in Pictures ), then post them here by using the Choose File button. We can't post a photo directly from the Internet.
But, if the photo is something other than a .bmp, a .png or a jpg it might not post accurately. I run into that all the time. Do you know how to convert a photo?

Tulsa  It begins img and ends.jpg with numbers in between. it was sent from my sil in SC. She probably found it at facebook...just guessing.

I can not save it to my other pictures. I tried that. Nope on converting a photo. I think I'll just pass.

It's too funny. Two little girls (playing baseball ) and laughing about the fit one Daddy had when she missed a catch. I mean their expressions are hilarious.

Tulsa posted on Movies & Reviews  I watched Saving Mr. Banks last night. Long. Boring. Sad. And interesting how 'she' responded to commands as in 'get on the horse' and 'sit down'.

Hello everyone. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to Spring Forward! We just have a bit more of this cold to endure.

- an interesting read. Another told of how the author was miffed at neglecting to mention her being a mother. She adopted a baby twin boy, never told him he was adopted - he met his twin in a pub when he was 17 and supposedly stopped all contact with her.

Tulsa  It was on tv around the time of the Olympics, so I recorded it...likely on the Paramount Channel. I saw the rating. I watched the trailer. It was 2:45 min. I was able to ff thru commercials. So it was about 2 hrs. My tolerance for sadness is extremely low.

This am I read the wiki on Saving Mr. Banks. As usual, much of the movie wasn't even true. That did not change the sad factor.
