Tulsa

Tulsa posted on Main Page The Lobby  NOAA has 'Washington's Birthday' listed for Monday, 2/20. Is this President Trump's doing? Our desk calendars say 'Presidents' Day'.

Gerty  Evidently, it depends on the state in which you live---both designations are "correct".

Tulsa  I typed in Boise, Idaho; Tampa, FL; someplace, CA; Columbia, SC;...all say Washington's Birthday. May be a coincidence, but I think someone told NOAA it is no longer President's Day.

Before the world went pc it was Washington's Birthday.

So I'm here...

Anyone watch Designated Survivor late 2016 and want to know who took the bullet? ie., does not wish to wait till March 8, 2017 return to learn the answer?

I know and will tell for a small fee. heh heh heh

I haven't seen, heard or read a single one and I refuse to start now.

Just go already!

Also, does everyone with Win. 7 know there are no more KB downloads. There are some kind of roll ups. And that extended service 'could have' been purchased in 2015, but not after a certain date and we had zero notification of this, so we don't have it. MSSE is still working, kinda. If a def. update is within 24 hrs. the download hangs up. We like windows.

3XALADY  It just took me 3 minutes after getting the log in page. I have my cookies emptied every time I leave a site so have to keep signing in. We have Windows 10 and DirecTV and the saucer is waaaay up on top of the house. I guess I was just used to 'in town' speed and have to cool my heels. I live 7 miles out of town and had been seeing work crews supposedly laying fiber optic lines to upgrade Century Link but I actually think it is worse than when I got here. Another subject: I am glad to be back yard birding again after not being able to in Florida. Put up the feeders on Thursday and it took until today for the little critters to stop in and eat. They are mostly eating what I threw on the ground and occasionally a couple of woodpeckers will land on the suet holder. Is there a way to post pictures? I've forgotten.

StormCnter  Why couldn't you have a back-yard feeder in Florida?

StormCnter  You can post a picture from your computer by clicking the Browse button, locating your picture, then clicking Open and then the Comment button. If you don't have a picture already in your file, do you know how to put one there? If you will email me, I can give you the steps. Also for posting videos. StormCnter@aol.com

3XALADY  We lived on a lake and Hurricane Charlie 8/04 took all the trees down around us so there was nothing to hang feeders in/on. Tried the shepherd's hook and even after tying them on, wind kept them blown off. Also, more squirrels than birds so it was just a losing battle. One time I found a feeder that fit on a big window with suction cups so I bought it, thinking those )(*&*% squirrels wouldn't bother that. Bet me! They hung on the glass in the middle of the window and ate it clean. I finally gave up. Re posting picture - guess I was looking for the little camera picture like is on faceook. I can do the other. Thanks.

Namma  I have seen people hanging a metal slinky on the pole holding the bird feeder. It's so funny to watch the squirrels trying to get up the pole. You might try this to keep the squirrels from the bird seed.

3XALADY  I saw a video on facebook and thought it was a slinky. It was hard to tell. So far no squirrels are bothering the feeders. It might be because they are used to two labs being in the yard except when it is extremely hot or cold.

MeiDei  Our squirrels figured out how to empty the suet cages. A metal kidney-shaped self locking shower hook solved that.

Tulsa posted on Main Page The Lobby  Hello all...posting here as The Lobby gets the most coverage. I read all the time people having problems hearing dialog either bc some actors have accents or they whisper. I could cite several programs. I often read reviews and look for spoilers and found threads that viewers are turning on closed captioning, tho they have no hearing problem.

Here's what I do. http://www.springfieldspringfield.co.uk/view_episode_scripts
.php?tv-show=elementary&episode=s05e02

Go to the link above and read the script. ...just scroll down to approx. where the line was in the show and read it. This has kept me from going completely insane and reading a sentence I missed. I have it set for Elementary, but you may search for most shows ...top line I believe.

Tulsa posted on Main Page The Lobby  FYI. Two Trump specials on Fox. One is 'Objectified' by TMZ's Levin (s ) with Trump explaining objects, ie., trophies, letters and well objects and how he obtained them. That was on last night. (Fri. ) If you have DirecTV, there is 72 hr rewind. I'm certain it's available to line or will be at Fox News again.

The 2nd special is with Bret Baier and is to be shown Sun. at 9 or 10 p. on Fox News. ...something like 'How Trump won the Presidency.'. Sorry I'm not more accurate. I was fast forwarding thru a commercial on a recorded show...spotted the special and rewound to obtain the info and have it set to record Sun.

MeiDei  Saw the TMZ special. It was previewed before the election by HRC and DJT - both agreed it shouldn't be aired prior to voting - can see why she would object, not sure why he agreed.

Tulsa  I watched it tonight. I thought it was well done. I first heard about it Fri. on Special Report with Bret B. He announced it would be on and I recorded it.

Didn't know it was previewed before the election, but could tell it was filmed during the campaign. I'm with you Mei, it was flattering to Trump.

Richdet  Let's clarify. Harvey Levin invited both Hillary and Trump back in September to do an "Objectified" interview with him, based on the concept that one learns a lot about a person by simply discussing the things he/she displays at home, such as photographs. Trump agreed to do it, Hillary (no surprise there ) wanted no part of it. Since Hillary wouldn't cooperate (again, no surprise ), Levin and Fox decided not to air the piece until after the election. Trump won, so that worked out nicely all around, and the special has been shown two or three times this weekend.

I thought Trump came off very well, as did Levin, and I would watch any "Objectified" special conducted by Levin. Interesting concept.

MeiDei  Thanks for the clarification, the [ene]media report I read was obviously someone's talking points, picked up and carried. Trump's candor (and demeanor ) was refreshing.

Tulsa posted on Main Page The Lobby  'Cancel billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and use the money to fix America‚Äôs water and environmental infrastructure.'

Is that amazing or what?! Next cancel the UN. Please, please, please.

I was scanning articles and found that gem.

Alice  On the one hand I think it acts like the OIC so should convene in Dubai or be disbanded as a useless jobs program for elites. On the other, having it in NYC makes it easier to monitor some of the bad actors.

The 'cancel' part, Yes!!

Tulsa  While I clearly see your point, those useless elites have diplomatic immunity. They have committed murder and abuse in America and gotten away with it. The amt of parking fines UN members owe would make a large dent in our national debt ...and the UN sits of primo real estate.

I'm tried of their lip service. ...and worst of all, they commit sexual crimes en masse against those in other countries they are sent to help.

Tulsa posted on Main Page The Lobby  Florida residents I suggest you head northwest into Georgia once you hit the SC line. The panic buying has already begun in Columbia, SC and in most towns and cities below that as the SC coast is under mandatory evac. starting Wed. at 3pm. One million to be evacuated. The peeps will not wait until Wed. to leave as there will no be rooms or food by then. Please trust me the shelves are bare in Cola by and for Cola and Cola area residents. You do not want to drive 3-4 more hrs. to Greenville, SC

Outbound traffic only on all lanes of I-26.

God bless each of you.

Tulsa posted on Computers &Tech Issues  Bulletins Rated Critical (by MS )

Microsoft bulletins MS16-104, MS-105, MS16-106, MS16-107, MS16-108, MS16-116, and MS16-117 are rated as Critical in this month's release.

MS16-104 and MS-105 are this month's Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge bulletins, respectively. These bulletins address a total of twenty-two (22 ) vulnerabilities comprised primarily of memory corruption and information disclosure vulnerabilities. Six (6 ) vulnerabilities are shared, affecting both IE and Edge. The most critical vulnerability affecting both products is a memory corruption vulnerability, CVE-2016-3295, concerns how objects are handled in memory. By directing the user to a specially crafted web page, an attacker could achieve remote code execution.

Tulsa  Other criticals include patching holes in Abobe and MS Office.

I downloaded all critical and optionals patch Tuesday for Sept., whereas I did not during the Win. 10 push.

While I don't trust MS, I don't see a choice at this point.
