Coffee Klatch

Safetydude  So, when you are in a public place what annoys you most?
1. Tobacco smoke.
2. Loud people on cell 'phones.
3. Dogs.
4. Kids.

Feel free to speak your mind, nobody knows who you are.

MeiDei  #2 - especially when they're using them while driving and having an argument at the same time. There's a very hilly, snake-like, back road that hugs a 20' drop into a swamp that brings out the "must call & argue" drivers in cars & trucks that used to unsettle me M-F 4x a day. In close contact situations, it's rude; nobody likes thinking the person behind them in line is talking to them & then greeted by a "what-r-u-looking-at" glare or a "mind-your-own-business" retort.

   MeiDei  Eyebrows.
Has anyone noticed the eyebrows on today's "celebrities"? The brows are getting closer to each other in the center. After the 20'30,40's when women shaved their eyebrows and penciled in a thing line, the trend was a tweezed brow, with a clean center, the edges of which began from an imaginary line from the outer edge of the nostril upwards. This gave an open face look, neither stern or quizzical or a thin fine line. Today I'm more and more aware of the "new" brows and not thinking it's the best look. Comments?

"things" ....

MeiDei  I've never seen anything about this 9/11 memorial donated by the people of Russia - it's erected across the river from NYC in NJ. Here's the write up in a veterans news paper.

MeiDei  You drive a bus from Rotterdam to Delft. At the first bus stop, 33 people get in. At the second bus stop, 7 more people get in, and 11 passengers step off. At the third bus stop, 5 passengers step off and 2 people get in. After one hour, the bus arrives in Delft.

The question: What is the name of the driver?

Safetydude  A comment on how(State & local )governments work.
Here, in North Port(FL ) since early 2017, we have had ongoing construction on S.Tamiami Trail(US-41 )all the way from N.P. to Port Charlotte, about 12-15 miles. The information board on the side of the project had "Projected completion: Fall of 2017". Well, Summer came and passed, Fall came and passed, Winter came and passed and the construction was nowhere near completion.
Well, today I passed that informational board and, lo and behold, as by magic, the projected completion date is now "Summer of 2018".
Draw your own conclusions.

MeiDei  Live chill map of USA - all but southern most parts of Florida, Arizona & California are affected. This is why you warm up your unfilled coffee cup in the microwave for 35 seconds before pouring your first cup of coffee or tea - else it gets cooled off too much & goes cold before it normally woould.

MeiDei  It was 2 degrees when I posted this originally, then it warmed up a bit and we got nearly 2 feet of snow, then yesterday & the day before it was in the high 50's/low 60' it's 12 degrees - a 40-50 degree up and down. I know it is colder in the more northern parts of the country and people there are used to it more so than some of us, & we get chided by them, but a 40-50 degree temp change in 24 hours - really (? ) how does one acclimate to that?
