Dartriley posted on Main Page The Lobby God our Father please grant the Goldberg's peace during this time of great loss and sorrow. God grant us all peace for the loss of one so bright and loved. Now resting in the arms of God is Joshua who was our friend and helper in these troubled times.
Joshua of the Old Testament said, “… But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15) And so it was for Joshua J. Goldberg and continues for you, his family, walking in the light as people of faith and as American patriots.
Joshua has entered the gate to eternity and reunited with those who have gone before him. May you, his family, find courage, strength and comfort in the days ahead with the certain hope of eternal life with those you love.
With deepest sympathy and love. God bless.

Rollingcow Soory, Prudente, I was born and raised in Iowa. My Mother always warshed things and showed me pitchers, we used to laugh at her for it and she would just laugh with us. She was also Iowa born and raised with a wonderful sense of humor and a truely wonderful relationship with God, we all miss her. Mrs. Cow

MsCharlotteVale I've heard people say warsh and rinsh your clothes. How about checkin's accounts? People down hear still talk about making their house and car 'notes' and paying their light bill.
Dartriley posted on Dogs, Cats & Critters This is my 18-year-old Bengal. He’s on thyroid meds, but doing well. He likes to stretch out near the wood stove and catch a few z’s.

Paget51 What a handsome kitty. :) He sure looks content! :)
Catzq Gabby tried the thyroid pill but had an allergic reaction to it leaving the Radioiodine treatment as the only option. I was hoping to hear from anyone who had experience/knowledge on the procedure.

Dartriley There is a cream you rub in the ear too...I could never get a pill down my cats throat! But if there is an allergy...that would be the only way.

Dartriley posted on Pet Peeves I hate it when teachers or speakers anounce, "There is no such thing as a stupid question."

Ynaught Sometimes I think they say that to buy time while they think of an answer! Other times it is a nice gesture to cover someone who has asked a really stupid question!
January 18 at 10:49 EST .
Dartriley I taught college for years (art and design), only left my job a year ago. I used to tell undergrads at the beginning of a course, "Yes, there is such a thing as a stupid question." Made them think before they spoke. ;-)

MsCharlotteVale There are stupid questions, I've asked more than my fair share of them.

Dartriley posted on Movies & Reviews My hometown theater, The Civic. We used to see matinees for 35 cents back in the early 60’s. They’ve been opened since 1940, and still show movies every day! But I haven’t been there in at least thirty years. "Mega Mind" is showing there now. The last movie I saw there was "The Man Who Would Be King."

MsCharlotteVale I remember when I could see a movie for 35 cents in my hometown. One movie a week, no multiplex choices and I saw some wonderful movies. You bought your ticket and you took your chances. hehehe. The Man Who Would Be King is a wonderful movie and a wonderful story by Kipling. Actually, the story is more chilling than the movie (the ending).

Surfhut I remember Mom dropping my brother and I off at the movie theater in out little town. She gave us $1.00 each. That paid for our movie tickets and copious amounts of popcorn, sodas and candy.

Dartriley Yep, a buck would do it for all the extras Surfhut! Our theater actually showed two different movies in tandem every Saturday. They were usually not first runs, but we didn't care! A cartoon first, then a movie, then a cartoon and another movie…those were the days!

Dartriley posted on Gardening & Landscaping Ok, one more picture...my herb garden in the fall of 2009. I love fresh herbs to cook with and for tea. It's bigger now than in 2009, but I didn't take any picture of it last year. It looks a little messy, but it was very productive, and I've added more herbs since then.
January 17 at 17:05 EST .
Yottyhere Very nice, I have grown parsley, rosemary, basil, thyme pineapple sage[which is a gorgeous plant .. it's not a cooking herb they say its medicinal. I plant it because its lovely and the butterflies and hummingbirds flock to it.
It doesnt look messy to me ...my gardens are not orderly or planted with a organized plan ....I like jumbles of lilies, daisies, lavender, autumn joy, hosta's,glads, butterfly bushes sweet potatoe vines, impatients. angel trumpets, hydrangea.
The weather down here last week probably killed a majority of my plants out in my big garden :( We cut back and mulch but not for 5+ days of below freezing temps and a layer of snow and ice for nearly 6 days.
January 17 at 22:24 EST .
Dartriley Yep, we could use a little real global warming here too! I heard how cold the south was, and you may get another cold snap again. Hope not... I used to live in Virginia, and we could grow so many more things there (I miss Virginia, but not the high cost of living). We would get those severe cold snaps from time to time too, and they would do a good deal of damage. So sorry it was so cold there...not good for the poor plants.
