Labrador Heaven Sen. Water vs. Choomer in Chief. No one was upset 'bout the Choomer illegal, but apparently Poland Water is worth tagging as a massive no-no during rebuttal speech to SOTU. Oh, God help us if a speaker must reach a bit more...
Handlers for Rubio will NEVER let that happen again, if they consider it even relevant.
But, of note, he doesn't have a a huge entourage. He was previously out with his kids & their friends beforehand
Uno Back when I was a kid, we had cap guns, rifles, BB Guns, Bows and Arrows (play ), rubber Bowie knives, Bazookas, Army soldiers and used to play Cowboys and Indians, War, Cops and Robbers, King of the Hill, Buckeye wars, etc. Outside of the occational cut or scrape, nobody got hurt (unless you fell the wrong way getting shot ) and we all had good fun. Now, in the name of Political Correctness all that has been taken away and what have we been left with? Midnight basketball, kids doing drugs, Kids having kids, kids maiming kids and kids killing kids. Boy, that sure worked out well didn't it?

Montanabound True. We'd get play "shot", stagger around holding our chests, and then dramatically fall "dead". No one ever would consider shooting someone for real.

Hollyhock That kind of play was so fun. It inspired creativity. If they don't have guns and play weapons they make them out of sticks. Making forts out of scrap lumber and chasing around the neighborhood till dark on a summer night - that brings back memories. Our kids have been cheated out of their childhoods and had it replaced with TV and video games. You never even see children riding around town on their bikes anymore.

Typhoon I remember we used to have arguments as to whether a shot was a hit or miss.

Rollingcow Holy cats! Maybe time has stopped in our little town, but the kids are out all the time around here playing. Got caught in the cross-fire one day this summer walking by the local park. The kids looked stricken, but I told them it was fine and they ran off to continue their battle away from old fat ladies taking a walk. We still have kids riding around on bikes and the occasional irritated mother yelling out the door for their kids to come in because it's dark. I'm not sure about cities, but small town and rural America is still doing great. Mrs. Cow

BirdsNest We played cowboys and Indians, "shot" each other thousands of times and none of us turned into mass murderers. Of course our parents smacked our butts when we were bad and when we entered a contest or played a sport NOT everyone came home with a trophy or ribbon. We learned to live with disappointment.

4Justice I always played army (I guess you could say I was a bit of a tomboy ) as a kid. BB gun and bow and arrow were my favorite toys...I still have both!! The problem isn't guns or even the fact that there is violence in entertainment...it is the TYPE of violence they show that is the problem. No longer do they show good triumph over evil. Now, they show evil triumphing and/or glorified. This year I have seen so many horrific "Christmas" shows...e.g., Santa is a hitman, or a kid drugs Santa and kills him, or a priest and Santa are killing each other... They never show happy, family style positive stories anymore. That is what is creating more unstable people--especially if they are already being brought up in dysfunctional and broken homes. Positive role models are always depicted as corny or outdated now. It all makes me want to cry. I think all this was done intentionally with long term consequences in mind from the start. There is evil and we have allowed it to take control of our once great society.

Charactercounts A couple of years ago, I gave my nephew guns that shoot mini-marshmallows. He and his sister had so much fun playing with these guns, and then eating the leftover marshmallows. The one thing I made sure of was to buy the guns that were bright primary colors, not the ones that were camouflage green. I didn't want some twit thinking the kids had real guns and calling the police.
Belwhatter Just found this in my in box - the lefties call his art propaganda - ignoring the fact that he is an artist as opposed to the government. It's brilliant, as are several of his previous efforts

Penney This certainly portrays the situation. This exceptionally talented artist has captured the moment....Would love to see him do a portrayal of scences from last night's GOP Convention!!! -What a contrast that would be!!!
Montanabound Charlie still tours a lot. I've seen him twice in the last 5 years or so. He puts on a great show.
