WRR0369 posted on Coffee Klatch Anyone else remember when Columbus Day was really on 12 October? I have 3 calendars posted in the hovel and they don't even agree. Some say 10th, some say 11th, no one says the 12th but that's what I remember from a yout'.

Gerty Mr. WRR, the powers that be like us to enjoy a long weekend to celebrate Columbus day. So, from year to year, they pick the closest Monday to the 12th to celebrate Christopher Columbus Day. Works for me!

Yesterday I was @ VA Livermore Hospital and saw 2 young wild turkeys comin' in and 2 young turkeys leavin' I don't know if they're the same 1,s; didn't wear name tags. I s'pose Groucho,Chico,Harpo,Zeppo would be too easy.Signs all over the place"Don't feed the turkeys" also signs telling us to mind rattlesnakes inna(sp ) bushes and on walkways. Don't feed them either.

Gerty Hi, Mr.WRR--I'm just a little confused. Were the turkeys comin' and goin' in and out of the VA hospital? Wonder what all that was about.
