Safetydude posted on Coffee Klatch  So, when you are in a public place what annoys you most?
1. Tobacco smoke.
2. Loud people on cell 'phones.
3. Dogs.
4. Kids.

Feel free to speak your mind, nobody knows who you are.

MeiDei  #2 - especially when they're using them while driving and having an argument at the same time. There's a very hilly, snake-like, back road that hugs a 20' drop into a swamp that brings out the "must call & argue" drivers in cars & trucks that used to unsettle me M-F 4x a day. In close contact situations, it's rude; nobody likes thinking the person behind them in line is talking to them & then greeted by a "what-r-u-looking-at" glare or a "mind-your-own-business" retort.

Gram77  No. 2 for me also........by the way, hi all! While waiting my turn in a doctor's office I listened to busy dad planning his daughter's wedding with his wife. Sort interesting but really loud.

Calvinesq  It's amazing, but No. 1 is really bad for me now. I used to be able to tolerate smoke in restaurants and bars when it was legal to smoke in those establishments. Now that I am so used to smoke-free environments, even a whiff of smoke walking down the street is very annoying.

StormCnter  Oh, #2 by far. People who think the rest of us are interested in their phone conversations are so annoying. It's especially bad when I'm trapped next to them in a line or a salon chair.

However, tobacco smoke doesn't bother me as long as it's cigarettes and not cigars. Cigar smoke should be banned from all civilization around the world.

   Safetydude posted on Jokes  Ok,
So these two women, who had not seen each other since college, meet at a funeral and after it was over started to chat.
"Well", said the first one. "I have three children. When the first one was born my husband gave me this beautiful diamond ring", and held out her hand.
"Well, bless your heart", said the other lady. "I have three children, too".
"Then", the first lady continued, "when my second child was born he took me on a month-long romantic cruise".
"Well bless your heart", said the other lady.
"And then when my third child was born my husband bought me a sixteen room house".
"Well, bless your heart" said the first lady, "when my first child was born my husband sent me to charm school".
"Charm school, what can you learn at charm school?"
"Well, for one thing I learned to say 'well bless your heart' instead of who gives a sh**!"

(I don't make 'en up, I just repeat 'em )

   Safetydude posted on Jokes  Ok,

So these two guys are chatting in the expectant father's waiting room in the local hospital.
The young guy is there for his first time and is pretty nervous, while the older guy is there for his sixth time.
As they chat the younger guy finally gets up the nerve to ask a personal question:
"Tell me" he asks blushing, "how long should you wait before resuming normal marital relations?"
The old guys gives him a long, penetration look,
"Well, I usually wait 'till she's in a private room."

Safetydude posted on Blessings  This is my first post on this wall.
I believe faith is a private matter and I don't share it, but today something happened that reinforced my faith and I do want to share that.
About a week ago, my wife, 'Miss Tina', had bad fall while retrieving our blown away garbage can. She fell on her lower back and also hit the back of her head. Even 'tho she was in was pain two days passed before she would let me take her to the hospital. When we got there her blood chemicals were totally screwed up and her liver had stopped working, etc. She wound up in the ICU with a dozen tubes in her.
For three days she was mostly comatose and incoherent, rambling and squirming so she had to have restraints put on her wrists. As I sat at her bedside trying to call her back she did not get any better. There were some moments when she settled down and it looked like maybe she was sleeping.

This afternoon her sister called me after her first visit and agreed with me that it seemed pretty hopeless. By this time I had already talked to Miss Tina's doctors and we had basically agreed that if there was not a marked improvement in the next two-three days she would be transferred to a Hospice.
Early this evening I went back to sit with her and like a miracle she had periods where she was 'almost' lucid. I talked to her and asked her what her name was and she answered and I asked what her friends called her and she answered that. One of the nurses asked her how old she was and what year we were in, which she also answered. After every answer she smiled like she was proud of her herself.
After about an hour, or so, I went home and called my sister-in-law and told her what had happened and she made me repeat every thing and then she asked me, pretty point blank, if I was lying to her.
That took me back a bit, and I said no, I'm telling you what happened.
My sister-in-law then said she had prayed over Miss Tina and had anointed with oil.
Later I went back to say good-night to my wife and she smiled and and said she wanted to come home. Tomorrow is another day but now my faith is re-enforced and I know we'll be ok.
This may be a bit rambling but I want it down quickly while it's fresh in my mind.
I believe God made it happen through my sister-in-law.

He watches over us, Safetydude. It is my prayer that your wife has continued to improve since your post.

Safetydude  This is a follow-up on my post about Miss Tina.
She passed away within two weeks of my post and less than three weeks before our 37th Wedding Anniversary.
My life ended that January day and I'm trying to re-organize my days without my Darling Wife beside me.
Than you all for your thoughts.

Safetydude posted on Main Page The Lobby  Where, in our founding documents, does it state that the US tax-payer must provide shelter, food, money and health care to every indigent from every pi**-ant country in the world ?
When we came over, in 1952, it took my Dad a YEAR to be allowed to enter the country. He had to speak English, have a sponsor and a job so he could demonstrate that neither he, nor his family, would be a burden on the country.
An we came from Sweden, for God's sake. Not some backward third world country.
I hope Trump doubles down on his immigration stance. He speaks for me.
If you can't make a contribution to this country instead of being a drain on it, stay out!

Phooey  Here ole Ben was talking about fellow citizens.

“I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed...that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.”

Here, in North Port(FL ) since early 2017, we have had ongoing construction on S.Tamiami Trail(US-41 )all the way from N.P. to Port Charlotte, about 12-15 miles. The information board on the side of the project had "Projected completion: Fall of 2017". Well, Summer came and passed, Fall came and passed, Winter came and passed and the construction was nowhere near completion.
Well, today I passed that informational board and, lo and behold, as by magic, the projected completion date is now "Summer of 2018".
Draw your own conclusions.

   Safetydude posted on Jokes  Ok,

So this housework-challenged blond dude decides he wants to wash his favorite sweatshirt.
He finds his way into the laundry room and stops in front of the washingmachine.
He's totally confused with all the settings on the machine so he calls to his wife;
"Honey" he calls, "what setting should I use for my sweatshirt?"
"What does it say on your sweatshirt?"
"Minnesota Vikings".
