Balogreene  I cross posted this on the Nostalgia wall too.

For a gift today, I was given two wonderfully amazing gifts. A baseball autographed by Sweet Swinging Billy Williams, and a coffee mug from 1969 with the Cubs Battery's autographs, Ferguson Jenkins, Randy Hundley, Ken Holtzman, Rich Nye, and more. I remember when you got those at the gas station (or something like that ). I'm pretty sure we had the whole set. I'm told they are now selling on eBay for decent money.

Rake King  Balo, I have a home run ball hit by Cubs catcher Mickey Livingston at St Louis Sportsman Park against the Cardinals in 1946, the year the birds beat the Red Sox for the World Series. I was seated in the the left field foul line upper deck, last row.

Balogreene  Wow! as my sister said, my gift was just to make me smile. Which it did. Yours is amazing. I never sat where I could catch a foul ball. Even when I was young.

Ole buzzard  Balo, the Braves are already making a habit of spanking the Nats this year. They're 9-0 against them.

Balogreene  The Braves are well on their way.

The Nats aren't doing so well this year. Not sure why, they still have a good team, and last year's coach.

The Cubs have found it in themselves to beat the Marlins, more than they have lost to them. But, I don't think many other clubs.

If I want to watch a winner, I'm going to have to go to the Braves, or Boston (heaven forbid )!

Surfhut  OKC Memorial Marathon is today. Ten runners from Boston are running. Nice to see so many local runners wearing red socks. The route passes just a few blocks from where I live, so I can walk over and cheer them on. OKC is probably the safest place in the country today!

Ole buzzard  The Packers have made two (I think ) exceptional picks so far. They didn't do anything in the free agency market. I hope now that they pick up one or two good safeties. They have a total of 10 picks in the third round.

Rake King  Starting this evening is the NFL pro football draft, which will make very wealthy a goodly number of jocks from around the country. It is one of the few places in the U.S. where workers will be paid a very high salary, who have not proved they are worth it; reach this job because they went to college but will not be asked to practice the major they earned....some will get there before they even graduate.

I guess one of the few good things that come out of all of this is some mothers will get a new house, luxury car dealers will see improved sales, and a number of CPA's will get new clients. It's the American way, right?

Ole buzzard  So far, it looks like the Braves are the Beast of the East this year. They're off to an 11-1 start and have swept three of four opponents, all of which are in the division.
