   Allsogreat  Rattlesnake logic

As long as we insist on maintaining the "moral high ground" we will NEVER win the war on terrorism. We're in a conflict in which we absolutely insist on playing by the rules against a maniacal group who have no rules.

After the Boston bombing the news media has spent days and weeks trying to determine why these men did what they did. They want to know what America did to make these brothers so angry with us. They want to know why these men were not arrested before they did something so terrible. The media is in a tizzy about this new era of homegrown radicals, and about why they could live among us and still hate us.

A friend of mine from Texas explained it all to me: Here in west Texas I have rattlesnakes on my place, living among us. I have killed a rattlesnake on the front porch. I have killed a rattlesnake on the back porch. I have killed rattlesnakes in the barn, in the shop and on the driveway. In fact, I kill every rattlesnake I encounter. I kill rattlesnakes because I know a rattlesnake will bite me and inject me with poison. I don’t stop to wonder why a rattlesnake will bite me; I know it will bite me because it's a rattlesnake and that's what rattlesnakes do. I don’t try to reason with a rattlesnake, I just kill it.

I don’t try to get to know the rattlesnake better so I can find a way to live with the rattlesnakes and convince them not to bite me. I just kill them. I don’t quiz a rattlesnake to see it I can find out where the other snakes are, because (a ) it wont tell me, and (b ) I already know they live on my place. So, I just kill the rattlesnake and move on to the next one.

I don’t look for ways I might be able to change the rattlesnake to a non-poisonous rat snake...I just kill it. Oh, and on occasion, I accidentally kill a rat snake because I thought it was a rattlesnake at the time. Also, I know, for every rattlesnake I kill, two more are lurking out there in the brush. In my lifetime I will never be able to rid my place of rattlesnakes. Do I fear them? No! Do I respect what they can do to me? Yes! And because of that respect I give them the fair justice they deserve.... I kill them!

Maybe as a country we should start giving more thought to the fact that these jihadists' are just like rattlesnakes, and act accordingly!

I love this country; it's the damn government I'm afraid of.

Gerty  Alibaba--I thought this was a joke. Who would name their company "Alibaba"?

How can they overtake Amazon.com if they only sell wholesale?

Care to enlighten us on the nature of this company and why it is sooo in the news?

StormCnter  Gerty, this is from Wikipedia:
Alibaba is a publicly traded Hangzhou-based group of Internet-based e-commerce businesses, including business-to-business online web portals, online retail and payment services, a shopping search engine and data-centric cloud computing services. In 2012, two of Alibaba’s portals handled 1.1 trillion yuan ($170 billion ) in sales, more than competitors eBay and Amazon.com combined. The company primarily operates in the People’s Republic of China (PRC ), and at closing time, on the date of its historic initial public offering (IPO ), 19 September 2014, Alibaba's market value was measured as US$231 billion....Alibaba's consumer-to-consumer portal Taobao, similar to eBay, features nearly a billion products and is one of the 20 most-visited websites globally. The Group's websites accounted for over 60% of the parcels delivered in China by March 2013,and 80% of the nation's online sales by September 2014. Alipay, an online payment escrow service, accounts for roughly half of all online payment transactions within China.

Allsogreat  Whats Happening In The World

Russia has taken over the Crimea, and may well have designs on all of the Ukraine. Noting our weakness, China may decide to invade Taiwan, North Korea may yet invade South Korea, Iraq is in shambles, Hamas is attacking Israel, Rebels in Syria are trying to take over the country (we’re unsure which side we’re on ), Egypt is still in chaos, ISIS is killing Americans and vows to kill us all, the whole of the middle eastern countries want to destroy Israel, Al-Qaeda still exists, the Taliban is stronger then ever, Americans are unsafe in Libya, and added to all these problems, our country (yours and mine ), "America", is being invaded by millions of Illegal Aliens, many of them criminals. Most of this occurring because we have a weak, indecisive, inexperienced President in office. To make matters worse, this President wants to send 3000 American soldiers to Africa to help in the fight against Ebola (bullets won’t kill Ebola ) and additionally this Government wants to bring many of those infected with Ebola to the United States (which is a sure way to spread this deadly disease even further. Is this by design. Is our Government intentionally trying to weaken, or destroy America?

We, as Americans, cannot solve all the problems of the world. We, as Americans cannot defend all countries against tyranny. It cannot be done and we certainly cannot afford to even try, nor should we try. Sometimes folks just have to help themselves.

Lets look out for America, don't allow this weak President to send troops to Africa, or get us involved in another ground war in the middle East.

Fireball27  President Obama has created "loopholes" that allow the terrorists to get into our country. The story is on the Mother Site. Please note my comment after the article. This is our very existence we are talking about.

WAN2  From social philosopher Eric Hoffer's "The True Believer" (1951 ):

There is in us a tendency to locate the shaping forces of our existence outside ourselves. Success and failure are unavoidably related in our minds with the state of things around us. Hence it is that people with a sense of fulfillment think it a good world and would like to conserve it as it is, while the frustrated favor radical change. The tendency to look for all causes outside ourselves persists even when it is clear that our state of being is the product of personal qualities such as ability, character, appearance, health and so on. "If anything ail a man," says Thoreau, "so that he does not perform his functions, if he has a pain in his bowels even . . . he forthwith sets about reforming the world."

The lesson? Beware True Believers...

Martinsh  Why is NO ONE TALKING about the fellow from DOJ calling a staff member from Rep. Issa's committee. The DOJ fellow thought he was talking with a staff member from the Democrat side and said he had some "leaks" he was going to give to certain "chosen MSM reporter". This is big. THE DOJ collaborating with the Democrats on the committee. This should be all over the news.
