Msliberty1937 But they DO have weapons, two very obviously on either end. Lucianne has been my first go-to site every morning for the past 9 years. It has kept me grounded and sane, and, knowing there are so many thousands of "right thinking people" out there, prouder than ever to be an American.
Msliberty1937 A huge hat tip to the creator of today's photo. It should become a new icon for the Marine Corps. Brilliant!! And seeing it today when his Marine daughter arrives home from Afghanistan is one of those truly OMG moments.
Olhokie64 I knew this bottom picture was some where and I finally found it. Hope you all enjoy.

Uno Here is a nice little video for Armed Forced Day, tomorrow May 18th. It isn't flashy or spectacular in any way, just plain old simple gratitude. An American expressing thanks with genuine thoughts. Comments that could possibly at some time crawl across a teleprompter, but real thoughts have never once gone through the Obamboozler's mind. I'm pretty sure that the pResident has no concept of Armed Forces Day until someone else puts it on his calendar for him and spoon feeds it to him and tells him to go out and thank a corpse man! Enjoy.

Surfhut Wonderful way to start the day. My flag is proudly flying. Deep gratitude to all who have served, all the way back to my 7th great grandfather who took up arms in the Revolutionary War at the age of 50.
A vast number of us have deep roots, long family history in this exceptional nation. We work, we serve, we sacrifice. We pray. I have high hopes that our steadfastness is starting to turn the tide to restoring our country. God Bless America.

Tocsin My mind today is not so much on THE FLAG, although, today, like every other day she is flying in all her glory. But on my friends & family members who sacrificed so much on the trails & in the rice paddies, at the Chosin Reservoir & Inchon and in the air, sea & ground battles of WWII. Rest in Peace true & valiant Patriots.

Surfhut My father, both of his brothers, my father-in-law are all WWII vets. They were treated with honor after WWII. I have a friend who served in Korea and the early days of Nam. Many peers who served in Nam. The Korea and Nam vets are often forgotten. In my home, they are remembered on this day and every day.
