From left, Shay No. 11, Western Maryland Shay No. 6, No. 5, and No. 4 lettered as she was in 1961 for the proposed Cass, Cheat, Greenbrier, and Bald Knob Scenic Railroad. May 11 at 06:44 EST .    Ole buzzard  Yes, it was, Surf. There were big celebrations at Grand Central Station in New York and Union Station in Chicago, as well as other locations across the country. At Grand Central, there was something like 25 privately owned passenger cars gathered. I sure would have liked to been able to see that. May 14 at 10:09 EST .
