Gram77  Don't know where to post this but I guess this will do. I started working when I started college, which was 1951. I stopped working this Monday, which is 2013. FL Homeschool Mom  Sorry I've been gone so long. A root kit (sp? ) virus took out my computer and I've had to use my Kindle for the web, unfortunately, it wouldn't allow me to post comments. Not sure why, but I'm back again. I had a terrible depression from Thanksgiving until March. The second year is harder than the first and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I guess that's when reality sets in I just never felt so alone in my life. I've started exercising every day and watching what I eat and it's helping to lift the fog. I've lost 20 lbs. -- bonus! I had the darnedest time weaning off Cymbalta last year, the resulting depression was devastating. The only thing that helped at all was large doses of good natural B-complex vitamins. My dad has been dead 15 years, he is in every dream I have. I see things in the store, and think of buying them for him. I don't get depressed, I expected him to go first. But, my mom, has such a time. Some days she's fine, some she gets melancholy. She never expected to outlive him by 15 years. Glad to hear you are dealing with it healthily. From one widow to another, the bout of depression you experienced is not uncommon. Happened to me, too. But we survive! If you are like most of us, there will be moments from time to time when it hits you again and you bust out crying. Those moments are just moments and don't turn into something longish-term. Wish Hikergal would drop in. She and I are both widowed somewhere near 5-1/2 years. She'll encourage you, too. Anyway, welcome back! Surfie Smooch! My mom, gone now 9 years, was truly the glue that held us together. Now my family is my husband, my cousin who lives with us, and I, but I have a larger family among the believers I meet with regularly, the patriots I converse with on FaceBook, and you all here. Magdalene  Good morning, Klatch! I have spent a bit of time catching up with the happenings around here. It's been a really hard winter that seemed to go on forever. I've missed church more often than attending, lost touch with friends I've neglected. My new med has a side effect of irritability, and that has had some side effects of its own, the most significant being the loss of relationship with two siblings and their families. Some days even the slightest noise is like fingernails on a chalkboard. My response is to draw in tighter, and I know that's not healthy but I don't want to inflict my irritability on those I love. I didn't intend this to be a pity party! I miss you all and lurk from time to time. I really want to be a contributing member again. I just don't have much to offer right now.
